What is a root canal procedure?

I am in the process of having a root canal redone by Dr Tousif Nathani as it was not done sufficiently by my NHS dentist. I was very nervous and scared to have this work done, but Dr Tousif Nathani and his assistant have been absolutely brilliant so far. I need 2 further appointments as I have twisted roots and it is a difficult operation, but I will not be anxious to go back and I am confident Dr Tousif is doing an excellent job in trying to save my tooth.
