Root canal treatment is commonly used to treat toothaches and tooth pulp problems. The cost of root canal treatment varies by its complexity and whether it is an anterior, pre-molar or molar tooth.

The Carl Zesis dental microscope enables endodontists to see and clean tooth roots with high detail. Root canal treatments are done by certified endodontists at BIDC. Root canal treatments may take one or several visits depending on the severity of the tooth root infection. After root canal is completed, temporary fillings are done. Thereafter a post or pin is inserted in the tooth and a crown in strenghtening the overall tooth is made.

Wisdom teeth are third molars. Normally people have three permanent molars that develop in each quadrant of the mouth. The third molars usually will try to grow in at around age 18 to 20 years. Wisdom teeth are actually no different than any other tooth except that they are the last teeth to erupt. They are just as useful as any other tooth if they grow in properly, have a proper bite relationship, and have healthy gum tissue around them. Unfortunately, this does not always happen.When wisdom teeth are prevented from erupting into the mouth properly, they are referred to as impacted. A dentist must examine a patients mouth and corresponding x-rays to determine if the teeth are impacted or will not grow in properly. Impacted teeth may cause problems. Here are several common problems that occurs when the impacted wisdom teeth are not removed: bacteria and plaque build-up, decay of adjacent teeth, formation of cysts (a fluid- filled sac) or tumors from follicle, tumor development, infection, jaw and gum disease. Erupted wisdom teeth may need to be removed. The exceptional cases are extremely infected teeth that are complicated from the last procedures, or complex cases, will take 2 visits in the gap of 1-2 weeks. Root Canal Treatment procedures are relatively comfortable and often Painless as the teeth is anaesthetized during the treatment. After the treatment, the tooth may be sensitive or tender for few days. Wisdom Tooth: To remove the wisdom tooth, our Surgeon will open up the gum tissue over the tooth and take out any bone that is covering the tooth. Surgeon will separate the tissue connecting the tooth and then remove the tooth. Sometimes tooth will also be cut into smaller pieces to make it easier to remove. Wisdom tooth removal usually is effective in preventing: Crowding of the back teethA wisdom tooth getting stuck in the jaw (impacted) and never breaking through the gums.Red, swollen, and painful gums caused by a flap of skin around the wisdom tooth that has only partially come in.

Endodontics is the area of dentistry dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the dental pulp. Endodontic therapy (root canal) is a treatment modality that will save diseased or injured teeth. The alternative to endodontics is extraction. Typically, a severely decayed tooth or a tooth with a large filling will begin to ache. The pain might be intermittent at first and over time progress to a constant dull throbbing pain or a severe ache that might be felt on all the teeth on the affected side. Sometimes there is no pain and an abscess might be discovered on a routine x-ray. An opening is then made through the top of the tooth into the pulp chamber. The pulp is removed from the pulp chamber and the root canals are cleaned, enlarged, and shaped to a form that can be filled and sealed latter. A temporary filling is placed in the the opening in the tooth to seal it between visits. During the next stage of treatment, the temporary filling is removed and the root canals are filled and sealed. This completes the endodontic treatment. Following completion the tooth will need to be restored. Due to the large amount of tooth structure usually lost from decay and old fillings, the preferred restoration is a post, crown, inlay / onlay, filling with resin, amalgam (metal). A post may be placed into the root to give additional structural support.
