Bone Graft

Bone Graft

Tooth extraction, bone loss and use of removable appliances for a long period time often lead to a decrease in bone volume which makes it impossible to position dental implants in such a way that they can optimally support a dental prosthesis. Alveolar bone defects/deficiencies can be prevented and overcome by surgical placement of bone graft.
Bone has a unique capacity to regenerate itself completely. Bone graft materials are used to facilitate bone formation within a given space by occupying that space and allowing bone growth to take place. They help maintain space under a barrier membrane for bone formation to occur.

Goals of bone graft placement include:

  • Restoration of bone ridge contour in the area of a missing tooth
  • Correction/elimination of ridge defects
  • Reduce postoperative infection, enhancing bone and soft tissue healing
  • Prepare alveolar bone ridge for the placement of implants and other dental prosthesis (crowns, bridges, dentures)
Bone Graft Surgery is a surgical procedure that involves placement of the bone graft material on a deficient space which is then covered with a membrane barrier and held in place with sutures. The procedure usually takes 1-2 hours with an initial recovery period of two weeks. Natural bone regenerates for a period of 3-6 months, replacing the bone graft material completely, before a dental implant will be placed.

Dental Bridges

Zirconia Dental Bridge

Zirconia is a ceramic material that has revolutionized modern dentistry. Because of its exceptional qualities in terms of strength and aesthetics, Zirconia is now being widely used by dentists to produce fast and high quality dental veneers, crowns, bridges and even implants.

What are the advantages of Zirconia?

  • STRENGTH:  Zirconia is very durable and is very hard to crack. It is actually the strongest material used in dentistry today.
  • AESTHETICS: Zirconia is a white ceramic with good translucency features. It resembles the natural tooth enamel because of its color and translucency.

It can also be further enhanced aesthetically by applying layers of porcelain to achieve the desired look, color and features of real teeth.

  • NON-METALLIC: Zirconia is not a metal. It does not rust, oxidize or chemically corrode.  Unlike Porcelain fused to metal bridges, you don’t have to worry about the black metal outlines showing up on your gum lines after a couple of years.
  • BIOCOMPATIBILITY:  Zirconia is compatible with living tissue. It is not toxic and is very well tolerated by the body. It does not cause allergy.
  • TEMPERATURE RESISTANT: Zirconia resists hot and cold temperatures very well. Because of this, hypersensitivity normally experienced by patients with other materials is greatly reduced.
  • STAIN RESISTANT: Zirconia does not easily stain compared acrylic and other composite ceramics.
  • FAST AND PRECISE: Zirconia dental bridges are made with high levels of precision and in a very short period of time because they are designed and manufactured in our clinic with state-of-the-art CADCAM equipment.

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns

When you have badly broken down or damaged tooth, your dentist will probably prescribe you a dental crown after treatment because the remaining tooth structure might be took weak already. In this case, a dental crown will be used instead of just a filling to restore your tooth. The dental crown will help support and protect your remaining tooth structure. It will also restore the appearance and functionality of your tooth.

Dental crowns can also be used purely for cosmetic purposes to enhance the shape, alignment or aesthetic appearance of teeth.  For dental implants, dental crowns are also used as the final restoration of the implant.

There are many different materials used for dental crowns depending on what the dentist thinks is best for you. Porcelain, metal, gold, ceramic and resin are some of the types of dental crowns used in dentistry.

Dental Implants

What are the advantages of having Dental Implants?

Dental implants provide the best long-term solution to missing teeth. It can restore your smile, enhance your appearance, boost your self-confidence and improve your overall quality of life.

1. They are just like real teeth. Dental implants are designed to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

2. They are permanent. Dental implants are permanently fixed and fused to your jawbone. Unlike dentures, you don’t need to take them off.

3. They are very strong. Dental implants are made usually of titanium and zirconia. Both are very strong and durable biocompatible materials.

4. They last a very long time. Dental implants must be cared for just like real teeth. With good oral hygiene, proper care and maintenance, implants can last you a lifetime.

5. They preserve your bone. Dental implants preserve bone, prevent further bone loss and help restore your jawbone structure.

6. They do not damage other teeth. Unlike fixed dental bridges, dental implants do not need anchors or abutments. You don’t need to shave off healthy teeth to support an implant.

7. Very good success rate. Dental implants enjoy the highest success rate among titanium implants.

Dental Sealant

Dental Sealant

Tooth sealants are tooth-colored fillings placed inside the grooves of chewing teeth. The sealants block the pits and grooves of the tooth, blocking the entrance of bacteria.

Our teeth, like the rest of our body, are composed of different parts. The anatomy also varies from one person to another. One of the most important parts of the tooth is the chewing surfaces where we can see some lines, grooves, and pits. Some people have very deep pits and grooves in their teeth making it difficult to clean, therefore creating a favorable environment for the bacteria to grow. This reason makes the pits and grooves of our teeth prone to early decay, however, preventive measures can be done to protect the teeth and delay the decay process.

Dental sealants are preventive measures of dentists. The tooth’s anatomy also becomes shallower after placing the sealant, making it easier for the person to brush his teeth thus preventing the initiation of tooth decay. Some tooth sealants also have fluoride as one of its components therefore making the sealed tooth surfaces more resistant to tooth decay.

The placement of tooth sealants is recommended for children with newly erupted first permanent molars. As the American Dental Association suggests, the placement of tooth sealants on the permanent molars of children as well as teenagers can be beneficial in reducing tooth decay 1. In some instances, tooth sealants need to be reapplied since it can break down due to the normal wear and tear of the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Regular visits to your dentist for a general check-up and for the reassessment of the tooth sealants are necessary to maintain a good oral health.

Digital Dental X-Ray

Our clinics are equipped with the latest digital x-rays or radiographs. A dental x-ray is an essential part of any dental treatment. It helps dentists detect, diagnose, treat and monitor oral conditions and diseases better.

Compared to traditional x-rays, digital radiographs are much much safer. Digital x-rays use 50% – 80% less radiation compared to traditional film x-rays. The level of radiation you are exposed too is actually equivalent to the radiation you get riding an airplane (1-2 hours flight). The level of exposure is further reduced with proper shielding. Patients undergoing x-ray are required to wear protective lead aprons as part of our radiation safety protocols.

Panoramic X-ray shows the entire mouth. The image includes all the teeth in the upper and lower arch. The radiograph image is taken from outside the mouth with the use of a machine that rotates around the entire head of the patient.

It is used by dentists to detect impacted wisdom teeth, identify jaw problems, monitor tooth development in children, plan treatment for dental implants, and diagnose bony tumors and cysts.

Extractions (Simple to Complicated)

What is tooth extraction?

Dental extraction, commonly referred to as tooth extraction, is the removal of teeth from the tooth socket. It is the treatment of choice when the tooth is already beyond repair and is infected or when the tooth is extremely mobile due to periodontal disease.

Tooth extraction is also known as an uncomplicated extraction.
This is performed on teeth that are clinically visible in the oral cavity. The procedure starts with the administration of local anesthesia.
Upon numbing of the tooth and surrounding structures, the gums are detached from the tooth using a hand instrument called a gum separator. This is to facilitate the access of the next set of hand instruments called elevators.

It is a common misconception that when dentists extract the tooth, they pull it out forcefully; however, this is not the case. Dentists use elevators to raise and wiggle the tooth out of the socket using small, controlled movements. When the tooth is already mobile in the socket, the tooth is picked up using the forceps.

Immediately after the tooth extraction, the socket is scraped with a small spoon-shaped instrument to make sure that no debris or diseased tissues remain inside. The tooth socket is also flushed with sterile saline solution to guarantee its cleanliness. Slight pressure is then applied to the socket to stop the bleeding usually by biting on a small piece of gauze for 30 minutes.

To ensure proper healing after the extraction, it is also advisable to rest for at least 24 hours, therefore avoiding any strenuous activities. Sucking, such as using a straw or puffing a cigarette, should be avoided because the negative pressure can stimulate bleeding. There is a long list of dos and don’ts after tooth extraction and it is best to follow your dentist’s instructions to avoid further complications.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL

Third molars or wisdom teeth are the last set of teeth to erupt. They are called wisdom teeth because they emerge at a more mature age, either in your late teens or early twenties.  Most adults have four wisdom teeth, one in each of the four quadrants. Some people may only have a few, some may have none at all and some may have more than four (supernumerary teeth).

Do you have to remove Wisdom Teeth?

Wisdom teeth do not serve any purpose in your mouth. They may be safely removed without compromising any function.  Your dentist may recommend wisdom teeth removal depending on how your wisdom teeth are erupted, positioned and how they affect your oral health.

What is the process of Wisdom Teeth Extraction?

A wisdom tooth extraction is usually an outpatient procedure. The procedure can be simple or complicated depending on the position and the type of eruption of the wisdom teeth. Some cases may require a surgical approach that involves making an incision in the gums and removing bone to extract the tooth.

Invisalign™

INVISALIGN

Invisalign revolutionizes the way we traditionally correct orthodontic problems.  Instead of using metal or ceramic braces and wires, Invisalignaligns teeth and corrects bite with a series of clear aligners.

Clear aligners are transparent thin plastic trays that apply constant force to the teeth to move them into place until desired results are achieved. If you want to have a beautiful smile without having to wear traditional braces then Invisalignmay be right for you.

What orthodontic problems can Invisaligntreat?

Invisalign can address a number of dental conditions including:

  • Crooked Teeth – Teeth are not aligned. Simple teeth alignment problems can easily be treated with clear aligners.

  • Crowded Teeth – There is not enough space in your jaw for your teeth to fit resulting into overlapping and twisting of teeth.

  • Gap Teeth – There are spaces between two or more of your teeth that create pockets where food can get stuck.

  • Overbite – Your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth.

  • Underbite – Your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth.

  • Crossbite – Your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth when you close your mouth.

  • Open Bite – Your upper and lower teeth don't touch when your mouth is closed.

Invisalign is an effective treatment option for many people. However, because it uses less force than conventional braces treatment, it may not be for people with severe orthodontic issues. The best way to know if Invisalignis right for you is to visit us for a consultation.

Root Canals (based on number of canals)

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Experiencing severe pain from a badly damaged tooth? Don’t pull it out just yet. Ask your dentist if a root canal can save your tooth from extraction.

When will you need a root canal?

“Root canal” refers to the natural cavity inside your tooth that contains the soft dental pulp that is made up of nerves and blood vessels. The dental pulp can be damaged by:

·  extensive tooth decay

·  repeated dental procedures on the tooth

·  large fillings

·  crack or chip in the tooth

·  trauma

When the pulp is damaged, it decays and becomes infested with bacteria. The tooth becomes infected and abscess or pus forms at the end of the roots. The abscessed tooth can cause pain and swelling that may spread to the other areas of your head and neck. If left untreated, an abscessed tooth can cause other serious dental problems.

What is a root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment or endodontic therapy is a procedure that removes the infected, injured or dead pulp and nerves from your tooth.

The pulp and nerves of the tooth are not vital. Once your tooth fully develops and emerges from the gum line, the function of the pulp and nerves of your tooth becomes limited to providing you sensations of heat and cold. Removing the pulp and nerves will not affect the functioning of the tooth.

After the pulp and nerves are removed, the tooth is cleaned, disinfected and filled. A root canal treated tooth should be restored with a crown to protect the tooth, prevent it from breaking and restore its function.

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth Cleaning

A procedure done for the teeth cleaning. It removes tartar and plaque build-up from the surfaces of the teeth as well as those hidden in between and under the gums. The dentist uses a scaler, a type of hand instrument, to remove the plaque and tartar.

Procedure
The denture making process takes a few weeks and several appointments. Once your dentist determines what type and design of denture is best for you, the treatment starts with a series of impressions of the upper and lower jaw, registration of the bite, and facial measurements.
Models of your teeth are made to subsequently form the shape and position of the future denture using wax. Several trial fittings will be done with this model and the denture will be assessed for the color of the artificial teeth, shape, and fit before the final denture is processed.
Adjustments will be made as necessary for every step of the treatment.

Post Treatment
Dental visit every year to check and examine the adaptation of the denture to the oral mucosa.
Clean the dentures properly by brushing it with soap or denture cleansers to remove foul odor.

Remove the denture every night so the oral mucosa can properly rest from all day coverage of the denture and prevent formation of fungal diseases..

Scaling and Root Planing (Per Quadrant)

What is Deep Scaling and Root Planing?

Deep scaling or root planing is the process of cleaning the places between the gums and the teeth, thus, eliminating the disease-causing bacteria in it.

Essentially, the dentist will remove the tartar and plaque from gum pockets, promoting healing of the gums.
If tartar and plaque from gum pockets remain untreated, this may cause inflammation of the gums, otherwise known as gingivitis. The bacteria can even go deeper into the gums, resulting to a more severe inflammation that can also destroy the supporting structures of the teeth such as the bone and the ligaments.

Once the supporting structures are damaged, it cannot grow back, thus making the tooth loose. This condition is called periodontitis, a more serious and destructive form of gum disease.

Home Whitening Kits

Home Whitening Kits

As the name suggest, you can have your whitening at home. Professionally dispensed take-home whitening kits include a low concentration peroxide based solution (3% to 20% peroxide) and a customized bleaching tray made by your dentist.

Unlike in-office whitening, take home teeth whitening does not produce instant results. The gel is applied to the teeth using custom-made bleaching trays that you must wear everyday for hours. Whitening is achieved over time.

Take home teeth whitening kits are designed to be safe for you to use on your own. Because of the low concentration of peroxide, the solution can safely remain longer on your teeth. Having custom-made bleaching trays also ensure that the solution fits your teeth perfectly. This avoids leakage and contact with your gums or other tissues in your mouth.

₱20000 - ₱25000

Laser Teeth Whitening

IN-OFFICE WHITENING

In-office whitening involves the careful and controlled application of a relatively high-concentration peroxide gel (15% to 43% peroxide) on your teeth at 15-20 minute intervals. The peroxide is activated using a special light that intensifies and speeds up the whitening process. The entire process can last up to 2 hours.

Having your teeth whitened by a dentist at the clinic ensures that the entire procedure will be safely and correctly performed.

Before the procedure, the dentist ensures that your oral tissues will be adequately protected during the entire whitening process. A special cheek retractor is used to open your mouth and protect your lips. A special gingival barrier will also be cured onto your gums to protect it from the peroxide solution and from the light. During the entire process, a high vacuum suction will be used to reduce accidental ingestion of the whitening solution.

In-office whitening can produce dramatic results. Whitening can be achieved faster and results can be seen immediately after the appointment. Results vary from person to person. Usually, teeth will be 2 to 8 shades lighter after the procedure.

Patients with stubborn staining may be advised to return for one or more additional bleaching sessions or may be asked to continue with a take-home whitening system.

Porcelain veneers can instantly change the size, shape and color of your teeth. Made of very thin layers of porcelain bonded to the surface of your teeth, porcelain veneers mimics the light-reflecting properties and translucency of real teeth giving you that beautiful and natural looking smile.

As a cosmetic dental procedure, having porcelain veneers is an amazing way to improve your smile and dramatically enhance your appearance.  This is the reason why most people refer to Porcelain Veneers as the “Hollywood Smile” treatment.

Porcelain veneers can be used to address the following problems:

  • Discoloration of teeth.
  • Worn down teeth.
  • Chipped or broken teeth.
  • Mildly misaligned teeth.
