1.What is a Dental Filling? Is way to restore a tooth by removing the decay and cleaning the affected area. The cleaned out cavity will then be filled.2.How do I know if I need a filling? With time these harmful bacteria will create a little hole in the tooth, if it’s not repaired with a filling in time, the cavity will simply continue to grow. Overtime it becomes painful in which case a Root Canal Treatment is needed to save the tooth. 5.How much does a dental filling cost? Filling prices vary due to a few factors: depends on which teeth needs to be filled depends on how deep the teeth decay is?
Teeth Cleaning with PRSI Free from €90
Your teeth are continually bathed in saliva which contains calcium and other substances which help strengthen and protect the teeth. While this is a good thing, it also means that we tend to get a build-up on the teeth over time. If the tartar is allowed to accumulate on the teeth it will unfortunately provide the right conditions for bacteria to thrive next to the gums. If plaque is allowed to build up, the bacteria in it can cause gum disease, making your gum bleed, sore and infected. The purpose of the cleaning and polishing is to leave the surfaces of the teeth clean and smooth so that bacteria are unable to stick to them and you have a better chance of keeping the teeth clean during your regular home care. Dental hygienic cleaning removes tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine tooth brushing. The treatment includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. Does it hurt to have your teeth cleaned? Most people find that cleanings are painless and feeling some tickling vibrations, the cooling mist of water, and the feeling of pressure during “scraping” – do not cause discomfort. Root Canals €399 - €599
Our dentists can perform root canal treatment to stop the infection from spreading and will preserve as much of your tooth as possible. Using specific techniques and advanced equipment, you will receive a local anaesthetic and the treatment overall should feel no different to having an ordinary filling placed. The aim of the treatment is to remove all infection from the root canal. The root is then cleaned and filled to prevent any further infection. A temporary filling is put in and the tooth is left to settle.The tooth is checked at a later visit and when all the infection has cleared, the tooth is permanently filled. Root canal treatment is a skilled and time-consuming procedure and most courses of treatment will involve two or more visits.  To keep your mouth in tip top shape we recommend you come in for regular hygiene appointments and dental check-ups. Is it painful?Today root canal treatment is as comfortable as getting a filling. With advanced local anaesthesia options and techniques it shouldn’t be painful.  Although pain can be experienced, this is because of the infection in the tooth. Pain isn’t caused by the root canal treatment. I’m not feeling any pain, so I don’t need a root canal treatment.Your dentist will see and advise you if the pulp of your teeth is damaged or infected. If this is the case you will need root canal treatment. You may end up with the teeth needed to be extracted.

Using a mouthpiece all of your teeth would be exposed to make it easier for the gel and light to work. After this a whitening gel will be applied to your teeth. Then a light or laser is shone on the teeth to activate the chemical. The light speeds up the reaction of the whitening product and the colour change can be achieved more quickly.

Suddenly got an excruciating toothache on a Saturday afternoon. I took painkillers and thought that somehow the pain would cease enough for to make an appointment with the local facility in my neighbourhood. I was wrong. The pain increased, so much so that I could barely sleep or eat. I went online and was lucky enough to connect with Canal View Dental Surgery and received an appointment for Sunday evening. I attended, of course !. And was kindly welcomed and received excellent treatment. The dentist managed to rid me of all pain and only because of his skill, he managed to retain my tooth. I have no problem in recommending him to anyone who is seeking excellent dental treatment and advice.
