What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells, also called dental laminates, that are used to cover unsightly teeth and give patients attractive smiles. They are easy to place and can quickly improve the smile of patients with dental cracks and stains, and for patients who have gaps between their teeth.

What is the difference between Veneers and Dental Crowns?

Veneers cover only the front portion of teeth. Crowns cover or replace the entire tooth. Crowns are therefore thicker than veneers. A major portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a crown while only a small portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a veneer. A crown is used for covering damaged teeth and is also placed over a dental implant. A veneer is only used for cosmetic purposes.

What are the best types of Veneers?

The best type of veneer depends on the needs of each individual patient. Some veneers can be easily placed without much tooth preparation. Some veneers are suitable for severely damaged teeth. Some veneers can be easily made in the clinic and patients do not have to wait long for their placement. Some veneers are cheaper than others and are suitable for patients looking for a low cost option.  Your dentist should discuss the options with you so you can make the best choice.

How long before you can eat after getting Veneers?

Dentists recommend that patients eat only soft foods after veneers are placed, and for the first few days, until they get used to them. Veneers are normally bonded firmly to teeth and patients can eat any type of food.

What are Veneers made from?

Veneers are made from ceramic, composite resins or zirconium.

I had a fear of dentists and my girlfriend dragged me to the IFSC. They started with a clean and fillings. 2 root canals later I am still a patient and would not go anywhere else. Gerry is a legend in my house. His receptionist deals with my price and insurance. Good value and the level of treatment and equipment is top-notch

Veneers
This cutting-edge technique creates the same dazzling results without any need to remove enamel or reshape your natural teeth. The innovative Veneer designs fit seamlessly over your own tooth, and are then bonded securely and snugly in place just as a conventional Porcelain Veneer. However, whereas for that traditional treatment your dentist must minimally prepare your tooth to receive the veneer by making space and removing some outer enamel, No Prep Veneers have no such need! These state-of-the-art Veneers are ultrathin, negating the need for any preparation or shaving of your natural tooth, allowing you to get on with the painless, joyful transformation of your smile right away.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a time-proven technique for allowing patients to realise the smile of their dreams with a set of straight, pearly white teeth that will stand the test of time. Veneers straighten, brighten, and create symmetry in your smile, through the fabrication of individually hand-crafted, ultra-thin layers of porcelain. These are created by skilled cosmetic ceramic technicians in an intricate process that produces results which perfectly mimic the natural finish and appearance of teeth.
Composite Bonding
Composite Bonding is a highly effective way to make small adjustments to your teeth that have a big impact on the overall appearance of your smile. By far the least invasive cosmetic dental technique available, this conservative treatment uses a highly aesthetic composite resin material to fill and perfect small issues – often involving the more visible front teeth or even a single tooth – in as little as an hour. Your natural tooth structure is preserved and your smile rejuvenated through the bonding of a thin layer of composite resin directly onto your freshly cleaned tooth surface, making this a completely painless procedure, with no need for any dental drilling or anaesthetic.

The usual advice was delivered in sympathetic, non-hectoring tonesValerie, Ireland, 05 01 22

I’m a nervous patient with gum disease. Due to Covid, it had been nearly a year since my last visit to the hygienist. I was expecting pain and discomfort and the usual lecture. Well, I was wrong.. Shauna, the hygienist, was amazing… I got pain-free but thoroughly clean and polished. The usual advice was delivered in sympathetic, non-hectoring tones. I’ll be back!

Was kindly welcomed and received excellent treatmentEdward, Ireland, 21 09 24

Suddenly got an excruciating toothache on a Saturday afternoon. I took painkillers and thought that somehow the pain would cease enough for to make an appointment with the local facility in my neighbourhood. I was wrong. The pain increased, so much so that I could barely sleep or eat. I went online and was lucky enough to connect with Canal View Dental Surgery and received an appointment for Sunday evening. I attended, of course !. And was kindly welcomed and received excellent treatment. The dentist managed to rid me of all pain and only because of his skill, he managed to retain my tooth. I have no problem in recommending him to anyone who is seeking excellent dental treatment and advice.

Very neat, clean and peaceful clinicJayanthi, Ireland, 16 09 22

I had a visit for consultation. I am very happy with the dentist's work and the clinic. Very neat, clean and peaceful clinic. The dentist was suggesting a better and less expensive treatment while other dentists I visited were insisting on a more expensive one. I am very convinced with the finish of filling she did as well. I definitely recommend this place to others.
