I decided to wear braces at the age of 21! I could see my teeth getting crowded, so I went for a consultation and was advised to get this orthodontic treatment. This included getting 4 of my teeth extracted first, to make space. I was expecting the procedure to be painful, but it surprisingly wasn't! I didn't even need painkillers afterward, the extraction was done so skilfully!
Even the whole experience of wearing braces (for nearly 2 years) went smoothly. I never had any issues with poking wires or ulcers, or difficulty in eating. The doctor's confidence and mastery inspired a lot of faith. Some of my friends who had braces in the past scared me with stories of pain and ulcers and constant soreness inside the mouth and relapse, but I was fortunate enough to be spared of all such complications.
I've waited a few months to write this review, simply because I wanted to document my experience after getting the braces removed. No problems till now (relapse, caries, etc)! I'm grateful for my new smile because I know the amount of dedication and skill that has gone into fixing it.
If you're thinking of getting a similar treatment done, make sure you place yourself in good hands. I highly recommend you to choose Smiles & Braces clinic because I can say from experience that a good doctor's skill, patience, and finesse makes a potentially frightening procedure seem like a breeze. And that, my friends, makes all the difference in the world!
The clinic is well maintained, clean and spacious. I especially liked the waiting area with magazines and newspapers and books catering to a wide variety of age groups, interests and the soft music which made the atmosphere welcoming and easy.
Dr. (Major) Alok Kumar is an extremely well-mannered and dedicated professional. He takes the time to explain all procedures to the patient (family) and to counsel properly, and his work is outstanding. I am completely satisfied with my orthodontic treatment, and even more grateful for his calm and gentle way or working. It used to put my mind at ease!
