Selected the best shade and brightness for the bridge

Received excellent care for a front bridge and a crown. I am very happy with the outcome. The work exceeds the previous work performed in the US. Dr. Jorge de la Cruz speaks excellent English, as he was trained in Philadelphia. He can arrange transportation to/from the airport or Guatemala City. I have no dental insurance in the US; the cost was a fraction of the US price. I plan to return.

The clinic was very clean and modern and within easy walking distance in Antiqua, Guatemala. His staff was friendly. I was impressed with how he worked with the laboratory staff and their profession attitude as they collaborated to size and select the best shade and brightness for the bridge.

Did twice the work for half the cost of what I was quoted here in the States

Permanent Crown

Dr. De la Cruz fit me in for three appointments on short notice and did twice the work for half the cost of what I was quoted here in the States. It was a little painful at times and one of the appointments was three hours, a long time in the chair, but the work I required was extensive. Two crowns, a root canal and removal of a lot of decay for $1700. Thank you, Dr. De la Cruz.

The first step is for your dentist to make an impression of the tooth. This is taken to a dental laboratory where a custom-made crown is fashioned. A temporary crown is installed and you will wear this until the permanent crown has been made which usually takes about two weeks. However we can speed up to 2-7 days if requested. The cement color used for your permanent crown must be the same as used for your temporary crown as the color of the cement does affect the overall color of a porcelain crown. When you return for your second appointment the permanent crown will be cemented onto your tooth. The crown should last for ten to fifteen years. The placement of a crown can usually be completed with only two appointments. However, it is possible that your tooth may require a preliminary restoration. In order to stabilize your tooth, a filling will be put in place prior to placing a crown due to the loss of original tooth structure.

A dental bridge is a false tooth which is fused between two porcelain crowns in order to replace a missing tooth. Each bridge is custom made to fill in the space. If spaces are left unfilled the surrounding teeth are liable to drift out of position. Furthermore, spaces from missing teeth can cause your other teeth and your gums to become far more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.
 

Veneers

Smaller cavities in a tooth often only require dental fillings. Today’s fillings are white in colour and therefore aesthetically pleasing. They are manufactured chairside by the dentist from dental resin to which wear-resistant ceramic granules are added.
