For decades, dentistry has addressed the problem of misaligned teeth through the use of traditional metal braces. While metal braces are still an effective way to correct teeth and bite positioning, recent advances in modern dentistry have made a new option available to clients: Invisalign®. Invisalign uses computer technology and a precise custom molding process to create a set of clear, removable "teeth aligners" that are changed every two weeks.  Each aligner is shaped differently in order to gradually push your teeth into their ideal position and smile. On the average treatment usually takes one year but can be as short as six months. During an initial examination, we will take x-rays, photographs, and dental impressions of your teeth. We will then send this information to our laboratory, where a three-dimensional computerized model of your upper and lower teeth will be created. Using this model, the Invisalign software will simulate a treatment sequence and send it back to your dentist, who will analyze it and make any adjustments he sees necessary. The approved treatment plan is then returned to our laboratory so your custom set of aligners can be molded. At first, your aligner may feel awkward; this is because it is applying force to your teeth. After a period of time – usually around two weeks – your teeth will move to fit the aligner, and your dentist will provide you with the next aligner to further guide your teeth along their corrective path.
