Thread veins (or telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which may appear anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face and legs. The appearance of spider/thread veins on the face and legs can cause embarrassment or self-consciousness for many individuals. Laser therapy is a proven treatment for treating thread veins and is most effective on very fine veins of less than 2.5mm in diameter. What are the side effects?The most common side effect is bruising, or purpura, around the treated area. This normally resolves within days of the treatment, but differs with lasers used. What should I expect after the procedure?The appearance of the treated vessels will dramatically change, turning from blue and purple to light red. Some vessels may bulge. However, any inflammation will subside within a couple of hours. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually disappear as the healing process occurs, which may take anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the size of the veins treated.

I have been having electrolysis at Skin Southwest with Martina since January 2024. Every appointment I have had has been excellent, Martina is meticulous with her work and always checks in with me during treatment to ensure I am comfortable. The results so far have been fantastic and I could not imagine going anywhere else to continue my treatment! I find the pricing very fair and there is an excellent reward system with discounts after a certain number of visits to the clinic. I am always made to feel welcome and cared for when I attend my appointments and look forward to coming in - the whole team are very friendly!

I specialise in non surgical procedures such as Dermal Filler and Wrinkle Reducing Injections to plump, lift and smooth facial lines. I use a variety of skin peels. Light peels, gently lift off dead skin cells whilst using potent antioxidants and improve skin health whilst giving a fresh bright glow. Medium to deep peels penetrate deeper into the skin for a more advanced result. I like to incorporate Dermaroller treatments for collagen induction therapy. This is a great all round treatment for skin health, open pores, scaring and brightening. Along side these treatments an active skin care range is needed to boost all treatments. I use a prescribed skin care range for those who are serious about improving there skin. It is fantastic at treating pigmentation from hormonal or environmental causes as well as overall skin health, controlling breakouts and acne. I pride myself in creating a natural youthful look for my clients.
