About Devon Laser Clinic

The Devon Laser Clinic provides cosmetic treatments using a range of non-invasive laser and non-laser techniques.

The clinic was established by Sara Colvin in March 2002. Sara is a Registered Nurse who has been qualified since 1996. She gained a BTEC in Laser and Intense Light Hair Removal in 2002.

We specialise in using medical lasers for the purpose of hair and thread vein removal. Two types of lasers are used in our clinic. A Cynosure Alexandrite laser is used for hair and pigmented lesions removal and a Polaris Nd:YAG laser is used for thread vein removal, hair removal to very dark skins and for the laser facials.

On a Wednesday, the Devon Laser Clinic is used by Mr Mills BDS DPDS of Face Confidential. He specialises in facial aesthetic treatments , dermal fillers and volumisers and dermaroller.

Recently we have also added IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments to our clinic for the purpose of treating Rosacea, Acne and for Facial Rejuvenation.

We also offer treatments for skin rejuvenation including microdermabrasion, acid facial peels and laser facials. Treatments are carried out in an attractive,relaxing and hygienic consultation and clinical area.

Chemical Peel

Skin peels are a treatment that helps improve and refine the skin.

They work by lifting off top layer of dead skin cells, therefore smoothing away fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes and improving overall appearance and condition of the skin.

Skin peels can help people prone to acne, as the glycolic compound can dislodge comedones and help prevent their formation.

A course of treatments are essential for to achieve the best results and homecare products need to be used for one to two weeks prior to the first peel and during the course of peels. This will begin the exfoliating process and also assess the skin for any sensitivity.

There is no recovery time and normal activities can be resumed immediately.

We use  products for our glycolic peels and facials at the Devon Laser Clinic.

Thread veins (or telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which may appear anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face and legs.

The appearance of spider/thread veins on the face and legs can cause embarrassment or self-consciousness for many individuals. Laser therapy is a proven treatment for treating thread veins and is most effective on very fine veins of less than 2.5mm in diameter.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effect is bruising, or purpura, around the treated area. This normally resolves within days of the treatment, but differs with lasers used.

What should I expect after the procedure?

The appearance of the treated vessels will dramatically change, turning from blue and purple to light red. Some vessels may bulge. However, any inflammation will subside within a couple of hours. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually disappear as the healing process occurs, which may take anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the size of the veins treated.
