They should avoid exposure to the sun for a few weeks. Patients should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol for at least a week. Patients can place ice packs over the area, if swelling occurs. Patients should sleep with their head elevated for three days to keep down any swelling. Patients should avoid touching or scratching the area until the wound is completely healed.
