I can't fault Apera at all. The care received after the surgery was phenomenal and I've definitely not had that experience on the NHS. If I pressed my bedside bell, they were at my side within seconds, they were gentle and kind and even with a language barrier they tried their best to communicate. Even going as far as using Google Translate at times. Every member of staff that I came across was absolutely lovely and super efficient. I was petrified of going abroad for surgery especially because of scaremongering in the news but I have zero regrets and would do it again tomorrow. The service of everything was amazing, hotels were fabulous, transfers were lovely as well as all of the drivers. Nothing was a bother for them. I still can't believe the price I paid for the service I received. One thing I would say is the efficiency of staff can sometimes feel like a rush but I don't believe that this impacted the experience at all, the reason I mention it is because if you are nervous this might worry you, particularly before the surgery and when it comes to being discharged. Please don't worry about this, they really are just very efficient and good at what they do. I can't thank Apera and all of the surgical and nursing team enough for looking after me so well and giving me a new lease of life. I truly wish I'd done it sooner. I would 100% recommend Apera for sleeve surgery!!! If you are travelling alone, don't be worried as you go for surgery in groups and I have made lifelong friends with the girls I was grouped with. We have supported each other during and after the surgery and keep in touch regularly and can't wait for our first in person trip for a well-deserved shopping trip. We got up close and personal fast particularly when we were all vulnerable straight after surgery and we never once felt we were alone!! One piece of advice is make sure you have extra dressings in for when you arrive home as you will want to shower more than the amount you are provided with. They are cheap enough online or from home bargains. I will absolutely be going back to Apera when I reach goal weight for plastics because I felt so well looked after so I think that says it all.
