Gastric Bypass Kaunas

I had my sleeve surgery with Prof A. Mickevicius on 19/9/23 at the clinic in Lithuania. After a great deal of research I chose the Professor because of his links to the NHS here in the UK. I was reassured by the cost (more expensive than Turkey but cheaper than UK), as well as the Professor’s vast experience in bariatric surgery. From the early stages of enquiry with Paule, through to my post discharge follow up back at home, I cannot fault them! Absolutely first class service which has beaten some of my experiences with Spire in UK. The hospital facilities are very modern and pleasant, with exceptional standards in clinical hygiene. The nursing staff would attend for observations every 2 hours around the clock, as well as providing an immediate response to any ‘button calls’ from the personal call button provided. The anaesthetist also visited me on the ward pre op and gave a very thorough assessment. The Professor came to see me in my hospital room on the morning of my surgery and again immediately following my surgery, back on the ward and each day after during my hospital stay to check up personally. He was also available at the end of the phone via the ward for any queries I had (mainly my raised BP). If you’re considering accommodation options as part of the package, I would point out that the apartment option is VERY basic. Also, we were in apartment directly on the terrace which could be a little noisey at night with other guests. If I were to return I would opt for the hotel. One difference in Lithuania compared to UK hospitals that you may need to be aware & prepared for is that they do not use a pre-op room for sedation. You will be walked down directly to the operating theatre and sedated in there when you arrive. It could be a little overwhelming for some if you are not anticipating seeing the theatre setting! Again the medical staff are wonderful at putting you at ease. Prof. Mickevicius is very pleasant, personable, and informative. I felt very reassured and safe in his care and would not hesitate to recommend Newman to anyone considering bariatric surgery

If you have any doubts about going to Lithuania and having your bariatric surgery with Nordbariatrics then don’t. From the initial contact onwards they were fantastic. I was looked after with the upmost professionalism and care from the time I arrived until the time I left. Every person working there really cares about your treatment, from the logistics department to their surgical department. I really am so happy I chose Nordbariatrics for my gastric bypass. I wouldn’t have anyone else.

I had my surgery on 20th July at 11 am before I went into the operating room the surgeon came and had a chat went through my options 1.gastric sleeve or 2 gastric bypasses we bought agreed on the gastric sleeve. I had a range of blood done and a coloscopy to make sure I had no contraindications to the surgery. The clinic was very clean and the nurses were very friendly and helpful at all times. The surgery was successful and my scars are very neat and very minimal. The nurses were prompt with pain meds and I felt comfortable in the clinic. The surgeon came to visit the day after and the day I was being discharged to check how I was and if I felt good. There was a chat with a nutritionist and I received a pouch with a diet plan. I felt this part of the aftercare was bit minimal and would have liked to see her again due to pain medication I don't feel I was fully focused that day and I would have liked to ask her more questions but other than that my experience was very good. I have private contact with a consultant Victor who is very helpful and always try his best to answer my questions before I travelled, during my stay and also since I've come home. I felt my overall experience was very good and I felt looked after while in the B and W clinic.

KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY/ FULL LEFT KNEE. 6th Nov 2024. Gijos klinikos, Lithuania. After nearly 3yrs of constant pain, and no joy of having my knee replacement surgery done on NHS, in England, (even though I was on the priority list) . the waiting list seemed to get longer and longer. So I decided to go private and did a lot of research on having an operation abroad. And after looking at what each and every one had to offer Gijos klinikos was the one that I felt was safe and outstanding. Their videos and testimonials stood out, so emailed the clinic, and asked the question, can you help? They have been so informative, I was sent information, and we arranged to chat via WhatsApp, as this was free to use. Karolis was my first contact, on my path to a new knee. He. Explained what the costs were no hidden charges, and all about my stay at the clinic. And helped with arranging flights and accommodation for me and my partner .scanned my letter over to them, regarding what the surgeon in UK said about my condition, and then DR AURIMAS SIRKA, from the clinic let me know what kind of knee implants he would be using. We arranged a date suitable for us to travel, and arrangements were made to meet us at the airport. And take us to the hotel where my partner would stay. I spent 2 nights in the hotel and then picked up to go to the clinic, at 7.30 am on day 3. took my clothes with me ready for my 10-day stay. My partner came with me and waited in my private room, while I went for my op everything was great. Felt so looked after. My operation went fantastic, woke up and couldn't believe it was done and over. No pain or feeling groggy. Spent 2 days in intensive care, and had me out of bed after a few hours. Dr aurimas came to see me and told me his findings after doing the replacement surgery. Also, a physiotherapist came to see me VAINIUS (Mr V for short) to tell me what the plan would be, up in the rehabilitation unit. So day 3 moved to my own private room again on another floor where I stayed while having rehabilitation in the gym. the room was brilliant tea/coffee/a kettle/a large fridge, and even milk provided. TV had endless channels, like Netflix, u.tube, and films, . Meals were lovely, all freshly prepared, nothing frozen, and plenty of choice for both breakfast, lunch, tea. My physio was done twice a day, and MR V came to make sure I was OK to walk there, And after 3 days I could walk to the gym on 2 crutches. He gave me exercises to do, while supervision was given. And built up each day what we did. After my morning session, I had a full leg massage which was amazing. (Thank you LETA) so was my leg compression + tens simulation every morning before going to the gym. On leaving the clinic after 9 days,I was overwhelmed by how much progress I had achieved. Mr V gave me a set of exercises to follow and said don't hesitate to contact me if I have any questions or problems, DR AURIMAS will do a follow-up phone call after 8 weeks to see how I am. JUST LIKE TO THANK EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF WHO LOOKED AFTER ME ON MY JOURNEY AMAZING, FANTASTIC, THANK YOU ALL XXX
