Therapy takes place within the relationship between you and your therapist, in a controlled framework, outside of the usual social conventions. Psychotherapists will not generally reveal personal details or opinions, nor attempt to provide direct solutions to your problems. Rather, they aim to provide a safe space for you to explore your concerns and gain clarity and insight into your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. One of the benefits of therapy is that you are working with someone who is skilled in helping you find the root of the problem and guiding you to your own innate strengths. Another is that working with someone removed from your family, friends and colleagues means that you do not have to entertain them, protect them from your painful experiences or even allow feelings of shame to prevent you from expressing yourself. Here the focus is on you, how your experiences have affected you and how you create meaning in your life.

Here the focus is on you, how your experiences have affected you and how you create meaning in your life. To address a specific concern, you may want to engage in a short-term piece of work lasting 8-12 weekly sessions. However, the problem is not always apparent: there may just be a general sense that things are not right. In this case it is a worthwhile investment in your wellbeing to commit to a year or more of weekly sessions. Your therapy is confidential. This confidentiality is strictly observed by your therapist and will only be broken in extreme circumstances, such as if the welfare of a child is in question or if there is threat of serious harm to self or others. This is a rare occurrence and in such situations every attempt is made to speak to you about it first. What is EMDR? EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that is extremely effective and efficient at dealing with traumatic memories and allowing your mind and body to process them, thus freeing you from the painfu

Through our sessions, I rediscovered someone I thought was lost forever, myselfFaun, US, 26 08 20

I was going through an extremely difficult divorce. Having been subject to constant badgering and emotional abuse, I was suffering from severe anxiety and my Self coincidence had been utterly shattered, I was completely overwhelmed. I had come across Ruairí’s page on Facebook and decided to reach out, sure what’s the worst that could happen? When Ruairí called me for an initial chat, I wasn’t sure what to expect, or how comfortable I’d be opening up to a stranger about everything but I am honestly so glad I did. Ruairí was a huge support to me in my darkest of times and helped me help myself get through everything. I cannot thank him enough for his Professionalism, encouragement And support. Knowing that someone was in my corner When I felt most alone was invaluable and I will forever be grateful to him. Through our sessions, I rediscovered someone I thought was lost forever, myself.

Sex Therapy London - Psychotherapy Clinic in the UK

Sex Therapy London

London, W1
Sex Therapy London is now offering online appointments ONLY via Skype, Facetime, VSee and by phone. Sex Therapy London is a comprehensive counselling, psychotherapy and psychosexual service for adults facing sexual and relationship concerns either as individuals or as part of a couple relationship. I see men and women of all nationalities and sexualities offering a space to talk freely about what are often very personal details about their intimate lives relating to sex and sexuality. Fundamentally I am a trained counsellor/psychotherapist and work with the whole gamut of the human psychological condition. I specialise in sex and relationships and more often than not psychosexual work is underpinned by attending to stress, anxiety, fear, depression and so on.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy £70 - £90
Psychotherapist Consultation £70 - £90
I hold initial consultations where, if you feel comfortable with me and what I have to offer including how I may be able to help you, we would agree to work together for a series of session, usually six to begin with. We would then review the work so far and, as often is the case, clients feel sufficiently supported enough to engage in further sessions. I always review with you to be sure that you are getting what you need and we end by mutual agreement or continue, its your choice. Therapy can be short and focused or long term, depending on the concerns. Psychosexual therapy is usually addressing an immediate problem that has recently occurred or began a long time previously. The initial focus is on the manifestation on the problem itself and with time, usually by helping you to look at your life history, connections can be made which are very useful in seeing perhaps how the concern began to take hold and cause the distress that it is causing today.
