Patient centred counselling is offered by this expert and experienced psychotherapist to help patients overcome a wide range of emotional and mental issues. She works from clinics located at South County Dublin, Churchtown in Dublin and at Kildare. All services are provided in a safe, non-judgmental and private environment and customized according to the specific challenges affecting individual patients. Conditions treated include anxiety and depression, loneliness, bereavement, lack of self-esteem, trauma, abuse, bereavement, anger, relationship difficulties and fear. Services provided include person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychosynthesis or a combination of therapies.

Life can be difficult at times.  Life events such as bereavement, divorce or job losses can cause you to become anxious or depressed.  You may have experienced trauma in your past which is still causing you pain today. Perhaps you are coping with a loved one's addiction or other mental illness.  When life is challenging it can feel as if you are just existing from one crisis to the next.  It takes courage to admit you are struggling and need help to cope. Talking to friends can help but sometimes you might need something more.  Family and friends can struggle to remain objective in the face of your pain and distress. Talking through your difficulties with a trusted therapist in a confidential, non-judgemental setting allows you the space to gain a clearer understanding and acceptance of yourself and helps you to make changes and decisions that enrich your life. My practice is located in Sallins, Co. Kildare where I offer one-to-one therapy with individuals aged 18 and over. I have day time and evening sessions strictly by appointment only.

Haven Counselling, is a psychotherapist clinic led by Frank Ryder, who provides high-quality services for both couples and individuals. Frank has extensive experience in couple therapy and specialises in communication, couple conflict, sexual problems, and many other areas. He offers a range of treatments for individuals to deal with anxiety, stress, self-confidence, and other issues. He holds a B.Sc. in Counselling and Psychotherapy and has completed specialised courses in various therapeutic approaches.

I have completed a Bsc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University in London.  I work from an eclectic approach and draw on various evidence based theories and techniques, including humanistic, integrative and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).  How I work will depend on what is best for you at any one time.  Most important is that we build a collaborative working relationship where you feel safe to explore what is happening for you right now.  Are you experiencing stress, depression or low mood?  Do you have relationship difficulties, lack self confidence or feel stuck?  Would you like to make changes, understand yourself and your problems better and foster fulfilling and happy  relationships?    I am available to support you through whatever life stage or circumstances you find yourself coping with at this time.    I also facilitate personal development process groups as well as groups for specific issues such as anxiety or depression. I am a professionally qualified counsellor psychotherapist holding a BSc (Hons.) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  Having a commitment to continued professional development, I have a Certificate in Gestalt Therapy and am currently undertaking training in issues of sexual violence with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. I am a fully accredited member of IACP and adhere to their professional standards and code of ethics in my practice. My training is humanistic and integrative incorporating person centred, psychodynamic, CBT and Gestalt therapies. I adapt my approach to that which is most appropriate and beneficial for the client. Central to my way of working is to create a safe, confidential and compassionate space where clients can begin a process of exploring aspects of their lives which are of concern to them. I have many years experience working with people in the area of mental health and wellbeing, including over four years working as a counsellor psychotherapist in Pieta House supporting people struggling with suicidal thoughts and engaging in deliberate self-harm. I am experienced in working with clients presenting with issues such as Depression, Stress and Anxiety, Loss and Grief, Relationship Issues, Low Self Esteem, Spirituality, Suicide and Deliberate Self Harm. I work empathically and collaboratively with adult individuals on a one to one basis.
