Knots of Thoughts - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Knots of Thoughts

20 Brownsbarn Gardens. Kingswood Cross, Dublin 22, Dublin, D22VH76
I am an Integrative therapist with a strong humanistic foundation and my work is firmly based on the ideals of humanistic approaches such as Person-Centred Therapy.  I work with  clients who experience depression, loneliness, bereavement, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, relationship and family issues, identity crises, body image issue, phobias, low self-esteem and more... My goal is to offer a space that is safe, accepting and non-judgemental, where you can explore, on a deeper level, your emotions, thoughts and behaviours. Looking in will help you find the answers and begin the journey of healing.  The decision to start therapy can bring feelings of both excitement and uncertainty and I am glad that you have taken the first step into this journey. You can benefit from counselling and psychotherapy at any stage in your life. However, it is more usual that you are likely to consider counselling when you are seeking to deal with changes, events or transitions in your life, or when facing a personal crisis. We will work together, as a team, to explore what you are going through and help you move forward.

Anger is an emotion and like all our emotions it is a form of signal, sending us information.Sometimes we can struggle with our emotions especially when they overwhelm and interrupt our thinking and ability to thrive.Regulating our response to emotions is required in order to attend to the emotion without letting it take over.  I work with clients on their emotional regulation equipping them with the ability to manage emotional responses in a way that empowers and enriches their lives.
Divorce Separation €60 - €80
There are many aspects to consider when family life breaks down.  Loss is a central theme for everyone involved.  Children often require help adjusting to a 'new' normal.  With developmental tasks ongoing, changes bring additional stress and challenges.  I have specific training in this area and can offer help to both parents and adolescents during this difficult transition.
Psychotherapist Consultation €60 - €80
Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to better understand ourselves and how we live.  It can be the difference between surviving and thriving. Integrative psychotherapy does not try to fit the client into one type of therapy as it utilises many different therapies and can tailor-fit the therapy to the individual needs of each person.

Connecting Mindfully (counselling & psychotherapy) - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland
5.0 from 1 verified review
When something in your life is not how you'd like it to be, or when you're looking for help and support for something that you're going through; perhaps a life event, a particular concern or maybe problems with relationships, at home, in school or at work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of anxiety, frustration, fear, sadness or other emotions.  Stress can be a part of this.  Counselling can help you to better understand what might be going on for you, and to find ways to effectively manage feelings, thoughts or worries.  My experience is that clients come to counselling because they want something in their life to be different. I appreciate that it's often not easy to come to counselling. I welcome clients with warmth and openness, and a non-judgemental listening ear. I am a Person-Centred Therapist and I use ACT, CBT and Choice Theory to help clients work through an issue or to help them shine a new light on an area of their life that is not currently how they would like it to be. Sometimes what we need is to be listened to and heard.  Coming to see a therapist is a brave step towards getting support.  Allowing yourself to talk about and express what you are experiencing might be what you need at this time.  We often don't 'press pause' in our lives, we often don't give ourselves the time or space to check in with ourselves. The treatment I received was excellentAileen, Ireland, 27 06 17

The treatment I received was excellent. I went down to talk about my feelings, the depression, the stress and feeling anxious. I would certainly tell a friend about it. Mairead would listen and would be able to give advice on how you are feeling. I found what she said was very reassuring and when I was in the right frame of mind or just sitting there listening to what she was saying, it would make sense and I would go home saying that I can do this and put it into place. It was close to home. And if I wanted to walk down, I could. First impressions were that the room was lovely and cosy, very friendly, comfortable and very welcoming. If I have to go again, I would certainly go back down to the Round Tower Psychotherapy and Counselling. Always very welcoming, nice relaxing room to be in. Would tell any one to go down and give it a try for a couple of times. Mairead is a very friendly person. One thing that I found great and lovely was I always got a hug at the end of the session. To me that was wonderful. That hug means a lot to me. Even though I don't hug a lot. There in that moment it means a lot.

We sometimes have a laugh to make it a positive sessionSean, Ireland, 19 08 20

I started going to Brendan Markey in May 2018 for counselling at the Somer Clinic Clondalkin, I suffered horrific injuries in January 2018 and after Follow-ups with my Consultant who treated me observed me that I need Counselling as he was a concern for my well being. My GP recommend Somer clinic. Brendan was positive in getting me back me through to overcome the trauma and I was going through a tough period in 2018 and part of 2019 with recovery from the injuries along with worries of the future hold at the end of the recovery. He is a great listener and he has given back my confidence and persuaded me to be positive, open-minded, explored new ways to a new chapter and well being. He makes me relaxed and the conservation flow, He listened to my issues, and how I’m feeling with difficult with getting my independence back and he reassured me that we get there as part of wellbeing, giving me the morale boost. We sometimes have a laugh to make it a positive session. Take this opportunity to thank Brendan for his contribution in helping me in getting me back on my feet with his advice, opinion and enjoyed going to the sessions for I will see him again soon.
