SOMAdublin - Somatic Movement Education in Dublin City Centre

SOMAdublin

12 Brunswick Place, Dublin, 2
Somatic Movement Class / Somatic Exercise Class In a Somatic Exercise Class, you will learn a series of self-care movements to release tight muscles on the front, back and sides of your body. The overall goal is to become more aware of habitual muscle tensions in order to release them (and get rid of them ). The movement sequences are practiced in a slow manner to allow the brain to ‘catch up’ again, always within your individual comfortable range of motion and never pushing into pain. You are retraining your brain to send the correct information to the muscles (relax or contract) to allow for full control and good muscle function. For a one to one class, I will design a series of exercises specifically tailored to your needs. Every client is unique, so we will find the perfect variation of a movement that suits you. In a group class, I will teach with a more general approach while adjusting to each clients profile if possible. Ideally, you start with some Clinical sessions and continue to refine your movement with Somatic Exercise classes. I have trained as a Somatic Exercise Coach under Martha Peterson (Essential Somatics) beginning of 2014 to teach Somatic Movement classes. Clinical Somatic Education Clinical Somatic Education is a powerful one-to-one application of Somatic Education. Clinical Somatic Education is a powerful one-to-one application of Somatic Education. Done on a wide and low table, the practitioner guides movement and uses different techniques to release stiff muscles and encourage smooth, unrestricted movement. The range of motion is always in your control, and we never push through painful movements. We do not manipulate, but educate, so the pain is not coming back after a few weeks – given you do your daily 5-30min home practice. Taking responsibility for your body is essential to refine your sensory-motor control and keep you pain free. Ideally, you’ll only need between 3-6 sessions, and then continue with the self-care exercises, which you can do on your own without getting dependent on regular sessions to ‘fix’ you. Gain freedom and control again!

Get Back Health Chiropractic - Chiropractic Clinic in Ireland

Get Back Health Chiropractic

9 Herbert Street, Dublin, Dublin 2
We are a chiropractic clinic located near the city center. We've been serving the people of Dublin with optimal chiropractic care for a number of years, but are always happy to see new patients. We offer a range of techniques if you happen to already be familiar with one or have particular concerns regarding chiropractic adjustments, but our clinicians are also adept at determining the most appropriate technique for patients who have no preference.
Posture Management
Posture, especially in the workplace and in sports, can lead to repetitive stress injuries damaging joints and tightening muscle groups. Both our doctors can help with any particular concerns you may have regarding your posture. Postural changes will require patience as it's essentially a changing of habits, so the most important thing is to stick with it and not get discouraged.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy is a soft tissue technique, similar to a short, yet specific massage. It focuses on working out singular tight points within muscles, rather than the muscle as a whole, to remove waste products and allow for muscle relaxation. Both doctors typically include a brief session of trigger point therapy in addition to traditional chiropractic care, though can also perform a session entirely of trigger points.
Ergonomic Assessments and Advice
Ergonomics refers to the way you move and position yourself in the workplace. Often simple things such as chair height and position, desk height, the type of computer you use, and where your tools are positioned can be changed to decrease the strain placed by yourself on your body. If concerned about your ergonomics, try to get a very clear idea of what your workplace looks like and how you're normally positioned before coming in so that we can give you the best advice.

In just three sessions It improved so muchDarren, Ireland, 30 10 24

I have had an intense pain in my shoulder for 5 weeks. My GP just gave me naproxen and I also tried a physiotherapist (5 sessions) who told me to do some stretching which obviously didn't solve the issue. I found Daim Therapy from google and was surprised with all Superb 5* Reviews so i thought i must give this clinic a try as i was unable to do my daily activities Dani listened carefully to everything I had to say and he gave me the first plausible explanation for my pain. In just three sessions I improved so much with his treatment methodolgy and I don't think I will have to go back as i feel great so far

The benefits of PilatesThe top benefits doing of Pilates exercise that people report are that they become stronger, longer, leaner, and more able to do anything with grace and easeimprovements in range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength -- and decreases in back, neck and joint pain.Pilates has boomed in the last two years, at the Dublin Holistic Centre.  The amount of students attending who suffer with poor posture, or back issues predominantly resulting from long term seated jobs with little movement or poor ergonomically designed desks and chairs compounded with stress has really catapulted back pain and neck pain into the main stream. Having seen an Osteopath or Massage Therapist to ease any structural or muscular tensions etc, the next step is in strengthening core back and abdominal muscles to ensure at all times, not just at work, that your posture and core strength is engaged ALL THE TIME, naturally, thus not collapsing when seated.   Once you have completed a 6 week Beginners course, there's no holding back, you will love how much stronger your core feels, and be amazed how far you can grow and push yourselves.  There are students who are in their 50's and 60's doing our classes who easily push themselves into Plank simply by having gained core strength and stability.  DON'T BE SHY, try a Pilates class today, although the secret is in finding a GREAT teacher...
