Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, Oisine Hannan is now delivering group Pilates classes to her own studio in Laraghcon Farm, Lucan, Co Dublin. As Chartered Physiotherapist and qualified acupuncturist, Oisine Hannan also has extensive experience in women’s health and this gives her pilates class an added dimension. Pilates exercises are a series of gentle, mat-based, muscle strengthening exercises, which are designed to develop core strength, improve muscle control, flexibility and co-ordination.  Pilates classes are ideal if your primary interest is general fitness or if you are aware of the need to strengthen your lower back and abdominal areas. These classes are also excellent for anyone requiring post-natal strengthening and rehabilitation as they focus on reconditioning the strength and function of the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles.  Pilates has been shown to prevent the recurrence of and as an effective treatment for lower back pain The class numbers are kept small number - six per class to allow for supervision of technique and safety.   The courses cost 80 euro which includes 6 sessions- in a group setting. New courses starting every 6 weeks all year round.
