About Somerton Physiotherapy Clinic

Somerton Physiotherapy Clinic was set up in 2015 by James Sherry MISCP who is an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist and specialist in the treatment of back and neck pain, sports injuries and adolescent physiotherapy.

Our goal at Somerton Physiotherapy Clinic is to provide you with a clear diagnosis and a comprehensive treatment plan so that you can recover from your injury successfully. 

We have Clinics located in Blanchardstown and Castleknock.

Was given a pre and post-exercise plan which greatly with my recovery

5 50 Knee Replacement, Hip Replacement

I have got amazing treatment having a bad back I was given an exercise maintenance plan which had given me great relief. I since had a knee replacement and hip replacement and was given a pre and post-exercise plan which greatly with my recovery.

Biography:
James Sherry MISCP is an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist with the majority of his practice focusing on the treatment of back and neck pain, sports injuries and adolescent physiotherapy. He has worked extensively with GAA players and athletes at all levels over the past 12 years. Previously James has been a member of the GAA’s Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee. He currently sits on the GPA’s (Gaelic Players Association) Player Welfare Committee. James played for the Fermanagh Senior Football GAA team for 11 years. While studying Physiotherapy at UCD he captained the college team when they won the Dublin Senior Football Championship in 2006. He also captained his former GAA club Roslea Shamrocks to four Fermanagh senior championship wins between 2010 and 2014. James has a keen interest in all sports. He competed internationally for Northern Ireland and Irish schools in cross country running. He continues to play senior football with Castleknock GAA club in Dublin. James established Somerton Physiotherapy Clinic in 2015.

Aidan Early MISCP studied physiotherapy in UCD graduating in 2014 with an Honours degree. He was since worked in both the acute hospital and private practice settings. He has gained overseas experience in Auckland, New Zealand where he worked with elite athletes and the general population treating a range of musculoskeletal injuries.

He has also worked at an elite sports level in Ireland, being involved with the Donegal Senior Men’s football team in 2017. In his hospital experience he has treated patients who have had orthopaedic surgery including hip and knee replacements and shoulder and spinal surgery.

Aidan has a particular interest in treating back and neck pain and lower limb injuries and uses a combination of hands on and exercise based techniques to help patients recover from their injuries.

Outside work he enjoys running and being as active as possible outdoors.

Karen qualified as a physiotherapist in 1999 from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. She worked extensively in the NHS in the UK and specialised early on in her career in the realm of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Whilst in the UK she worked within outpatient departments, orthopaedic wards and a pain management centre, amongst others.

Karen had the specialist role of working as part of a lower limb service within an outpatients setting and was responsible for the management of all knee injuries referred to the department. Karen continues to have a passion for treating and rehabilitating knee and lower limb injuries. Karen has also worked as a physiotherapist for the Metropolitan police service in London, treating police officers and staff members, she moved to Dublin In 2006 and has worked in private practices since that time. 

Karen has been the occupational health physiotherapist on the St James’ Gate site in Dublin providing Physiotherapy services to the Diageo and Guinness workers. She has experience of working in the corporate and occupational health environment for large companies and regularly carries out ergonomic desk assessments. 

Karen integrates dry needling into her practice and is registered with the Irish Society of chartered physiotherapists.
