Karen Crookes Osteopath Dublin 2

28 South William Street, Dublin, Dublin 2
Rating from 1 Review I was really impressed with her professionalism and her skillsAnne, Ireland, 13 Oct 14

I went to Karen Crookes three times for a tight neck and lower back, as I wanted to add a physical hands-on- therapy to the other things I was doing. I was really impressed with her professionalism and her skills, the osteopathy was very non aggressive - ( I don't know if that's the right term, but I mean there was nothing unexpected or anxiety provoking in her manipulation of my neck! :) And its a bonus that she is a very affable nice person who I felt quickly at ease with. The results were fast and strong too and that of course is the priority. I felt totally re-aligned and the muscles relaxed over my neck and back in a way that was noticeable straight away, getting better and better till fully gone after the third visit. I also left each time without leaving feeling wrecked tired for the rest of the day, (as had happened before with osteopathy). All in all, highly recommended !!

Cranial Osteopathy up to €60
Osteopathy is a hands on approach to healthcare recognising the important link between the structures of your body & the way it works. Osteopaths focus on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerve system and circulation work together to improve your health & well-being. DefinitionCranial osteopathy originated from the work of osteopath William Sutherland in the early 1900's. This gentle but powerful form of osteopathy uses the patient’s cranial rhythm for diagnosing and treating tensions and dysfunctions in the body. Cranial osteopaths believe that the skull is not a rigid structure, its bones move in a rhythmic manner throughout life. Cranial osteopaths focus on the pulsing of the fluid which nourishes and protects the membranes surrounding the brain, spinal cord and sacrum, this pulsing is called the Cranial Rhythm (or Primary Respiratory or Involuntary Mechanism), it is a movement of expansion and contraction of all the tissues of the body. Cranial osteopaths believe that any disturbances in the flow of this fluid will reflect pressures on the cranial bones or injuries or tensions in the body. A SessionCranial osteopathy is a non-invasive therapy. Using light touch, practitioners assess the quality of the patients' Cranial restrictions, rhythm and compare it to what they consider to be a normal mobility and rhythm, they can then judge the state of the patient's body and how well it is functioning. During a session the practitioner will delicately manipulate the cranial and spinal bones in order to restore the cranial bone restrictions, the rhythm, boost blood circulation and drain lymph and sinus fluids in the head. While the practitioner holds the appropriate bones and gently manipulates tissues, the patient is asked to concentrate on releasing tension and breathing.

Enso Amatsu Injury Clinic - Holistic Health Clinic in Ireland

Enso Amatsu Injury Clinic

Room 4, 104 Sundrive Road, Kimage, Dublin 12
Amatsu therapy is a modern adaptation of a soft tissue therapy that has been used for thousands of years in Japan. It is based on ancient principles of natural movement and can be used to help many musculo-skeletal and lifestyle related conditions, as well as supporting the restoration of general health and well being. Our practitioners use unique soft tissue pressure and mobilisation techniques to treat your whole body, not just the symptoms. They will also seek to address the effects of life’s daily stresses on you – such as physical, emotional and environmental factors. Unlike many other therapies, it is a whole body treatment that works with the body's soft tissue (eg muscles, tendons, fascia, ligaments and organs) to help to re-balance other key mechanical and energetic structures (e.g. the spine, bones, joints, cranium and meridian circuits). Treatments (balances) are suitable for people of all age groups and those with limited mobility.

Stresses and strains can accumulate over time and symptoms may begin somewhat insidiously. The Osteopath works with structural imbalances that are present in the body to restore a state of physical balance. Patients often report improvement in many areas of their health. Most people associate osteopathy with back and spinal care for which it can prove to be an effective solution for helping with associated pain. Mechanical problems in the structure of the body can not only lead to aches or pains in the joints, tissues, muscles etc. but it can also lead to disturbances in the internal organs and the way they work. Irregular function may impair blood circulation or lymphatic drainage, and disrupt the nerve supply to any part of the body, thus having a detrimental effect on health. Osteopaths use a wide range of “hands on” techniques to identify, diagnose and treat dysfunction in the body in order to restore the body’s structure and function to a state of balance so that the healing process can be accelerated, thereby improving vitality and general health. Osteopathy does far more than care for back pain and postural irregularities. It also deals with a wide array of issues such as: migrainesheadachesdigestive problemsperiod problemsrespiratory problemsvulnerability to infections due to a depleted immune systemIt has a calming affect on the nervous system and can help with fatigue, mood swings or depression, disturbed sleep. It can help people resolve emotional issues such as anger, grief, depression.
