Exceptionally talented physiotherapistSimone, Ireland, 11 03 14

I was extremely pleased with my treatment, and returned about 4 times, I feel such huge relief from pain and numbness in my fingers due to bulging discs in my neck. My son has also been after he broke his elbow and to have surgery. He is fourteen and wanted to get back to rugby where he broke his arm. The treatments he received from Kathy and Cira were not only beneficial to his arm, but they also gave him the confidence and guidance needed for a full recovery. My Daughter, Megan, has also been as she hurt her neck while skiing. Kathy treated her neck and also gave her advice on a few positive changes she could make on a daily basis to give her more energy. Kathy referred Megan to another medical person for further treatments outside the physio spectrum. This I found impressive as the patient's full recovery is Kathy's ultimate goal, and if treatment is needed outside of her clinic, she will refer you to someone who will help you achieve full recovery. I think Kathy Kavanagh is an exceptionally talented physiotherapist and I recommend her to all my customers and friends.

Stresses and strains can accumulate over time and symptoms may begin somewhat insidiously. The Osteopath works with structural imbalances that are present in the body to restore a state of physical balance. Patients often report improvement in many areas of their health. Most people associate osteopathy with back and spinal care for which it can prove to be an effective solution for helping with associated pain. Mechanical problems in the structure of the body can not only lead to aches or pains in the joints, tissues, muscles etc. but it can also lead to disturbances in the internal organs and the way they work. Irregular function may impair blood circulation or lymphatic drainage, and disrupt the nerve supply to any part of the body, thus having a detrimental effect on health. Osteopaths use a wide range of “hands on” techniques to identify, diagnose and treat dysfunction in the body in order to restore the body’s structure and function to a state of balance so that the healing process can be accelerated, thereby improving vitality and general health. Osteopathy does far more than care for back pain and postural irregularities. It also deals with a wide array of issues such as: migrainesheadachesdigestive problemsperiod problemsrespiratory problemsvulnerability to infections due to a depleted immune systemIt has a calming affect on the nervous system and can help with fatigue, mood swings or depression, disturbed sleep. It can help people resolve emotional issues such as anger, grief, depression.

Complete Physical Therapy - Dylan Crowe Physical Therapist

Complete Physical Therapy

33, lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2
I am a member of the Register of Physical Therapist of Ireland. Along with Marc Smith, I am one of the founders of Complete Fitness. I received my Bachelor of Sports Science Degree from Bedfordshire University in the UK. I have over 17 years’ experience working in the field of musclo-sketetal pain management as a Physical Therapist. Throughout my development as a Physical Therapist, I have worked with a multitude of acute and severe chronic cases. I realise that a full clinical postural assessment, as well as a “Hands-On” approach is the most effective way for managing pain/injury. All clients will receive a comprehensive rehabilitation programme to ensure full recovery. I understand that Body work education is an ongoing process and, as such, continue to supplement my university education with courses that include: Myofascial trigger point, Dry Needling, Tom Myers structural integration workshops, James Waslaski, orthopaedic and medical massage techniques workshops. I have been lucky enough to have studied under the tuition of Michael Kerr from the NIM to become a Manipulative Therapist. I have recently completed my Level 1 and level 2 module in AiMs(Anatomy in motion) with the brilliant Gary Ward and Chris Stritharan. This movement assessment analysis has become an important part of my overall treatment.

Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.
Deep Tissue Massage
RELAXATION AND FOCUSOne of the most popular reasons to schedule a massage is to relieve the amount of tension and stress that one may feel. This includes athletes! Training is difficult and requires an enormous amount of dedication and hard work.By allowing the mind to relax and release inner tension, the body follows along.
