It combines pressure, energy balancing, stretching and applied yoga exercises. Traditional Thai Foot Massage is a unique and powerful therapy. Using thumbs, hands and a wooden acupressure tool, massage is applied to the legs and feet through rubbing, kneading, stretching and vibration techniques. Pressure points are areas along the “energy lines” which are called “Sen Lines” in Thailand. By focusing on these Sen Lines, we work on Reflex or pressure points on the feet which correspond to various internal organs, through which life, energy, Prana, chi, or Ki flows. It is believed that blockages within the flow will result in pain, illness or disease. By working along the Sen Lines with pressure and by stretching the lines, blocked energy can be released and functions balanced. Tui Na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping, Chinese herbalism, tai chi, and qigong.Tui na is a hands-on body treatment that uses Chinese taoist and martial arts principles in an effort to bring the eight principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into balance. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press, and rub the areas between each of the joints,known as the eight gates, to attempt to open the bodys defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in the meridians and the muscles.The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, and massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points. These techniques are claimed to aid in the treatment of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.

Each treatment is for 1 hour.  The first consultation will primarily consist of a detailed case history with some acupuncture.  Further appointments are still 1 hour, however, the focus will be on the acupuncture treatment with a short update of how you are so I can assess if we need to adapt the treatment.
