World-class. My experience with Star Dental is the entire staff is extraordinarily sensitive, smart /professional and even fun. It's as if they read my mind and anticipated my fears from beginning to end. Basically, they get it: You are going to another country to spend a lot of money and put yourself at the mercy of people you haven't met. All I can say is I got 3 implants, 4 crowns, 4 root canals, 2 BONE graft surgeries, and 3 cavities when I arrived. After 3 visits I left with a new smile and teeth I could rely on. Even after the hotel, flight, food-, etc. I still saved thousands compared to USA dental quotes. I did this without sacrificing an ounce of expertise. I fact I believe Star Dental is better than average high-end dental offices in USA. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Costa Rica to see them even for a check-up instead of a USA dentist. . I have been recommending them to anyone who asks, and a bunch of people have asked how I did it! There were no unpleasant or significant surprises from my perspective. This is key because a decision this big is all about trust right? It is for me. Their process starts addressing this long before you get there. In my view, they get full credit for having created an affordable and effective solution to my complicated dental mess that I was too scared to deal with for years.

I found that Dr. Esteban Urzola possesses an impeccable record of dentistry at a very affordable cost. I was first in contact with Cristina, Dr. Urzola’s Dental Coordinator. After submitting my referral, she provided an itemized invoice with a description of the service and product required to complete my treatment. I was astounded to learn that my total cost was between 20% to 25% of what I had been quoted in the United States. Cristina suggested that I stay at Urban Flats, which is just a couple of miles from their dental office… maybe a five-minute drive. I found that Urban Flats is a clean, modern, and very safe location. She also advised that upon my arrival, I would be picked up at the airport in a timely fashion at no additional charge. The driver took me straight to the gated community of Urban Flats and even helped me find and check into the unit I had booked. When I arrived at Urzola Dentistry, I found the facility to be spotless and comfortable with state-of-the-art dental equipment and appliances that rival the best facilities in the US. At this time, I met Cristina, and I also met Beatriz, Dr. Urzola’s Dental Concierge. Beatriz, along with Cristina, makes things happen. They are both wonderfully effective in making everything work; they pay close attention to detail. I found Dr. Esteban Urzola to be genuine and passionate about his clients, friends, and family. In the short time I have gotten to know him, I must attest that I am proud to call him my friend. One of the concerns for some people is the pain one is expected to endure when receiving dental treatment. In my younger days, when dental treatment was necessary, I always approached the dental office with trepidation. And this time, I was predisposed to the same trepidation. I have an average threshold of pain, like most ordinary guys. Why would I feel any different, based on my past dental experiences? As I was guided into the chair, Dr. Urzola handed me a small paper cup containing a potion he advised would help me to relax. I settled back into the chair and closed my eyes to avoid looking directly into the bright dentistry light. What happened next is almost indescribable. Although I kept my eyes closed, I was wide awake for the whole procedure. A few times, I heard him say, “Open,” I guess because I got lax in keeping my mouth open. But here is what I struggled with… THERE WAS NO PAIN!!! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!! I had no sensation of the three extractions, the insertion of four implants into my lower jaw (both sides), not during the bone graft on the right side of my jaw, nor the stitching of my gums. No sensation, BUT I WASN’T DREAMING; I WAS WIDE AWAKE!! This is what I am unable to reconcile. Because in the blink of an eye, he said I could get up… the procedures were complete. I wish that I had kept the time, but I didn’t. I don’t know if it took an hour or less, or possibly a few hours, for the complete treatment accomplished by Dr. Urzola. He advanced my procedures with meticulous precision; his skillset must be the best in the Western Hemisphere. On the last day, before catching my flight home the next day, I was fitted with two temporary bridges on some of my natural teeth. This is the only slight discomfort I felt (other than my slightly swollen jaw from the bone graft) that lasted a few days when I got home, while my teeth shifted and adjusted to the temporary bridges. There was no pain to attest to, just a slight discomfort, unbelievable as it may seem. As I was leaving Urzola Dentistry, I asked Beatriz for the location of a local store where I could purchase some ice cream. It started to rain, slightly, but Beatriz, being the sweetheart that she is, walked with me in the rain to show me where a local store was around the corner from the dentistry. She had the driver pick me up at the store in short order. In conclusion, I met some wonderful people in a beautiful country, in addition to being the recipient of cost-effective and painless dental procedures… a win-win. Dr. Esteban Urzola and his team are par excellence, bar none. He is the best… and then… there's all the rest!

I have been to many dentists across different continents, but my experience with Costa Rica Dental Team was the most amazing I have ever had. I had a lot of work done—five crowns, an old root canal cleaned out, a metal filling removed and replaced with a white filling, and a piece of an old extraction removed. I was in the chair for four and a half hours with zero pain, and believe me, I have a phobia of needles. Dr. Jessica Mora was the best dentist I have ever seen. Four days later, I had my crowns fitted with no adjustments needed. Her meticulous approach to setting the crowns was incredible. Jessica literally X-rayed my crowns more than 25 times in just 15 minutes to ensure every crown was perfect—she wouldn’t settle for anything less than absolute perfection. I will never have major dental work done in the USA again. I have already recommended Costa Rica Dental Team to friends and family, and believe me, it's worth the trip—the cost in the USA would have been astronomical. Thank you for the great service.
