Otoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct aesthetic irregularities in the shape, position, or proportion of the ears. It is most commonly performed to address ears that protrude more prominently from the head, a condition often referred to as "prominent ears" or "protruding ears." Through otoplasty, the ears can be reshaped to create a more balanced appearance with the face, significantly improving both aesthetics and self-confidence. A protective bandage is worn for a few days following the procedure. Swelling, tenderness, and mild pain are expected and temporary. Most patients can return to their daily activities within the first week. A special headband or protective bandage may be worn at night for 4–6 weeks to support healing. Final, long-lasting results are typically visible within 1–2 months.
