I would like to share my personal experience with this clinic, which I contacted through intermediaries.
My surgery was planned as a combination of several procedures. In reality, the process turned out to be significantly longer and more complex than I had expected.
During the first operation, there were difficulties with intubation, and I was informed that several attempts were required. Before the second anaesthesia, as far as I understood, a full examination of my airways was not performed, although I was concerned about the possibility of swelling after the previous procedures. After the second anaesthesia, I experienced hypoxia and a nosebleed, which caused me serious concern at the time.
Following these complications, I felt that the subsequent monitoring and explanations about my condition were somewhat limited. I did not always receive detailed information about my health status and recovery process, which increased the stress in an already difficult situation.
Another challenge during my visit was related to documentation. The documents I signed did not include a detailed breakdown of the cost of each procedure. When I later requested my medical records, they were provided with some delay. I was told that I would receive an official translation of the medical report, but even after more than a week I had not received it. Instead, I was given a document in Turkish with a signature but without an official clinic stamp. As an international patient, I expected to receive properly certified and translated medical documentation.
Regarding coordination, communication with one member of the coordination team throughout the process was polite and professional. However, in some situations, when I asked questions about documentation and clarification of certain details, I encountered emotional reactions and irritation, which was difficult to experience while already dealing with medical complications and stress.
In addition, the situation resulted in extra financial expenses, including payment for an additional day in the hospital and medical tests, extended hotel accommodation, and additional transportation costs.
It is possible that when treatment goes smoothly, such difficulties do not arise. However, in my case, when complications occurred, I felt that the level of support, transparency, and communication was limited.
