I highly recommend Dr. Gideon Maresky! I travelled to South Africa from the U.S. and scheduled an appointment with him for a second opinion regarding a tummy tuck to address loose skin in my abdominal area. I was initially going to go with another surgeon in Cape Town, but after meeting Dr. Maresky, I felt so comfortable and confident in him. He struck me as the kind of person who would do everything possible to deliver the best result, so I decided to proceed with him instead, and he did not disappoint. Dr. Maresky has a great sense of humour, and he is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He proposed performing the tummy tuck in a way that would leave only one scar instead of two, as the other surgeon had suggested. He also had availability within a week, which suited me perfectly since I had planned to recover in South Africa before returning to the U.S. and had limited time. During the surgery, he did everything I had asked for to deliver the very best results (some of which he could only determine once he began the procedure). After my surgery, he was with me every step of the way, and I was in daily contact with him. He never compromised on my well-being and insisted I keep my fluid drain in for as long as necessary. I followed his instructions exactly, and now, five weeks post-surgery, I’ve had no issues at all. Although I am still swollen, I can already see that the results are going to be excellent and exactly what I wanted. Dr. Maresky is not only a highly skilled and experienced plastic surgeon, but also a truly lovely human being who is deeply committed to and genuinely cares about his patients. I have known Dr Meintjes since 1986. Over the years, he has performed various minor surgeries on myself, my wife and our youngest daughter. His service has always been excellent, nothing too small for him. He has always been friendly and keeps his patients well informed. Always has time for the smallest of surgeries required. Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: I recently returned to Dr. Clare Neser for a second major surgery, and I can now say with absolute certainty that she is simply brilliant. My journey started in August 2025 when I had an Extended/Fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty with rectus muscle plication. That experience was an absolute breeze. At the time, I thought perhaps I just got lucky with how fantastic the recovery went. However, on January 12, 2026, I underwent a second procedure—a Posterior Body Lift under general anaesthetic—and the experience was just as incredible. What amazes me most is the pain management. For two such massive procedures, it almost sounds untrue, but I can assure you: in both instances, I woke up from the anaesthetic with absolutely NO pain. It takes a truly skilled surgeon and a brilliant anaesthetist to achieve that level of comfort for a patient. I have gotten to know Dr. Neser over this time, and her skill is undeniable. But it isn’t just her; the entire ecosystem she works in is world-class. The anaesthetist is excellent, and the compassion and care shown by the theatre staff speaks volumes ("spreek boekdele") about why my recovery has been so good. A huge thank you as well to her receptionist and the office staff, who are always helpful and professional. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon, I recommend Dr. Neser without a shadow of a doubt.
