About Dr Rory Dower

Rory Dower is an internationally trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. 

He completed an aesthetic fellowship at The London Clinic on Harley Street, and has travelled to centres in the USA and Germany to learn advanced techniques and surgical skills from the world’s most innovative plastic surgeons. He has a special interest in face (including the high SMAS face lift and rhinoplasty), breasts, and body contouring procedures. 

He has completed 2 international fellowships in Microsurgery: one focusing mainly on breast reconstruction at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, while the second, an advanced microsurgery in Taiwan, dealing with all aspects of microsurgical reconstruction (including complex head and neck reconstruction).

Dr Dower believes in taking the time to build a relationship and understand your goals. Using the most effective surgical techniques to create balance, he is committed to restoring and refining your features, in the most natural way, knowing that only proper techniques, done well, give long-lasting results.

My experience with Dr Dower and his team has been exceptional from start to finish.

Dr Dower is calm, concise, and highly reassuring in the way he explains his procedures. He gives clear, honest feedback and truly believes that less is more — a philosophy I deeply appreciate. His approach is all about harmony, balance, and natural-looking results, which immediately inspired confidence in me.

He also has an excellent bedside manner: professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. I always felt I was in safe, experienced hands.

What also stood out was the warmth of his entire team. His staff — including the secretaries, beauticians, and nurses — are all incredibly friendly, kind, and supportive. They create a very personal, comforting experience, which makes such a difference during a surgical journey.

Now, at two weeks post-op, I can already see the healing progressing beautifully and the results beginning to show exactly as Dr Dower explained they would. That reassurance and accuracy have meant a lot to me.

The accommodation arranged was also excellent, which made the whole experience even smoother and more comfortable.

Pefore I could think what I needed to do next, it was done for me

5 50 Facelift

I really wanted to look younger in a natural way. It took me a while to make the decision to have a facelift but in Dr. Dower's hands, I got the result I could have only dreamt of. I look myself, just 20 years younger. It has given me a renewed energy and excitement for life. He is a brilliant surgeon and I really recommend him to any woman who wants to turn back the clock without looking like you've been operated on.

Very professional - before I could think what I needed to do next, it was done for me. Lots of good preparation and helped me to feel relaxed and know I would be well taken care of. The nursing staff were extremely kind and supportive.

Dr Dower has completed two international fellowships in microsurgery. The first at St Thomas’ hospital in London, involving mainly breast reconstruction. The second, an advanced microsurgery fellowship in Taiwan, dealing with all aspects of microsurgical reconstruction including complex head and neck reconstruction and treatment for lymphedema. This was followed by an observorship in implant breast reconstruction at the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centre in New York. During his specialist training, the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Southern Africa (APRSSA), awarded Dr Dower Best Clinical Paper in 2009 and 2011, as well as Best Publication in 2012. He has also presented at the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) Annual Meeting in 2014, on breast reconstruction. Dr Dower is a Member of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Southern Africa (APRSSA) and is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He holds GMC registration and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons England (MRCS Eng).
