A minimally invasive method of removing excessive deposits of fat, in-between the skin and muscle layers, in unwanted places. Usually these accumulated lumps of fat are resistant to diet and exercise. Most common areas affected are the belly, the sides of the thighs, the sides of the waist and the back of the upper arms. In some, fat also accumulates under the chin, at the chest (in males, resulting in “man-boobs”), back (back “rolls”) and the legs and forearms. The process involves using long thin tubes which deliver the tumescent fluid to the target areas through small cuts in the skin about 3mm to 5mm in size. Strategically located so as not to be readily visible the fat is the removed by applying negative pressure (vacuum) through these long thin tubes we call cannula’s.
