What are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins, also known as varicosities, are thick and dark blue or purple veins that are seen in the lower limbs of patients. They are caused by damaged or poorly functioning valves within the veins. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to treat varicose veins.

How are Varicose Veins treated?

Varicose veins are treated by making patients wear compression stockings, by helping them to lose weight, by sclerotherapy, injecting  a chemical into the vein to make it collapse, laser and radiofrequency assisted procedures, phlebectomy procedures, where veins are removed by making small cuts on the surface of the skin and by surgical procedures involving tying or stripping of the varicose veins.

Are Varicose Vein treatments painful?

Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins are performed after administering local anaesthetic to the treatment area. Surgical varicose vein removal procedures are performed under general anaesthesia. Patients will not feel any pain during the procedures.

When will I recover after Varicose Veins treatments?

It takes about five weeks to completely recover from minimally invasive and surgical varicose vein treatments.

What care is required after Varicose Vein treatments?

Patients should take all prescribed medications correctly. They should wear compression stockings to prevent blood clots. They should not wear tight clothing or high heeled shoes. They should elevate their legs while sitting. They should not smoke or drink alcohol. They should not gain weight after varicose vein treatments. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least two weeks.

Medicover Hospital Hungary

Váci út 29-31., Budapest, 1134
Rating from 1 Review High standards, service and professional in every wayAnonymous, Kent, 16 May 17

Being a woman on my own and having a lot of medical issues I have struggled to find proper health care in the UK. I managed to get 1 NHS hospital appt in 9 yrs, after asking numerous times for a confirmation letter for this appointment I never received one. It is obvious there is no proper medical healthcare in U.K for absolutely any medical problem. I contacted Medicover Hospital in Hungary via Whatclinic due to the high standard of care previously seen. Medicover provided me with a list of consultations for doctors to see due to the concerns I mentioned. I arranged 3 consultations with them thus far and I am happy with the professionalism of the hospital. Firstly I was met at airport and taken to hotel by their polite driver. The following day at Medicover I entered a very clean modern building with friendly welcoming staff. This puts you at ease immediately. The doctors wear white coats, greet their patients and show you to the consultation room. I have never been so thoroughly examined in any UK hospital, private or NHS in my entire life. Every detail, health issue noted nothing was overlooked. The doctors explained things thoroughly and they listen to you. The eye specialist exam completed a thorough examination, sight tests, eye machines etc. I had dilation of pupils having had cataract surgery 20 odd years ago and was never able to get an exam in U.K afterwards. Previously I was given a prescription for medication for the fluid pouring from my eyes since visiting this clinic I am using drops, which treats the actual leak. The cardiologist did a thorough examination and prescribed further tests as he was not happy with my blood pressure. At the the Gastrology exam another complete and thorough examination was done and I was given list of full treatment that had to be done. The overall examination took about 4 hours, but it was nice to have someone do such a complete check of my health. I cannot find 1 negative thing to say about the care I received from the Medicover Hospital just that I have never experience this type of treatment at any hospital in the UK. High standards, service and professional in every way. I am returning very soon and have also been offered appointments with any other specialist I wish to see. I was driven back to the airport the following day and escorted to the departure lounge. One day was all it took to diagnose the root problem and I am so happy I visited this hospital.

Rating from 2 Reviews I asked for a natural look, and that is exactly what I have got.Anita, london, 17 Feb 16

I had upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty in September 2015. The whole process and procedure went very well, and a lot easier than I anticipated. Less than six months later, I am very happy with the results, as my eyes look almost fully recovered and with no signs of surgery. I asked for a natural look, and that is exactly what I have got; most people simply think that I look better and healthier. I am very pleased with the results, and my sister and a friend are already preparing to meet with Dr. Rodrigo for the same. My experience with Dr. Rodrigo's clinic, his assistant, Joanna, and the rest of the clinic staff was very positive. I found everyone very helpful and kind, and would definitely recommend the whole team.

Nothing to complain about this place.Tina, Budapest, 15 Jan 15

Rating from 1 Review Wart removal healed perfectlyPeter, Berlin, 21 Oct 15

I had a wart removed from a lower eye lid. Quick, in-office procedure. Healed perfectly. The removed material was sent for histiological examination, the results came back within a week and, as the doctor had expected, were negative. Had consulted, and been treated by this doctor, for another matter a year earlier and had been fully satisfied. Was able to get a quick appointment, the doctor speaks English and German as well as Hungarian. Reasonable charges. A very satisfying experience. Highly to be recommended.
