Rating from 4 Reviews I've changed a lot of things in my life positively due to the therapistSarah, dublin, 04 Oct 18

I went to Renata for quite a while as I really struggled to make a change and to see things differently. I was gradually suffering from anxiety and depression that literally got completely out of hand due to life situations and I could no longer see clearly. It was time to do something and thank goodness I found Renata. She really is amazing, inspirational, and really changed my life with Cognitive behavioural therapy. I have come so far to the point my mindset is completely different and on how I view things in general. I've changed a lot of things in my life positively due to Renata.

Cognitive Therapy Behavioural Therapy can offer stepped exposure to address the anxiety and an alternative response to negative and unrealistic thoughts. It can target self-critical thoughts and help control intrusive and unpleasant thoughts.
Psychotherapist Consultation up to €70
In the initial consultation therapist and client can establish whether they can do therapeutic work together. For the therapist, this involves assessing what type of therapeutic support the client needs and whether this is within the therapists realm of services offered. For the client, it involves whether they feel comfortable and safe enough within this particular therapeutic environment to bring whatever they need to the sessions.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy up to €70
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes the important role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations, and events. The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to feel better even if the situation does not change.

These changes include: • Becoming more able to feel, identify and express emotions.• Making connections (e.g. between feelings and behaviours or past and present experiences).• Gaining a greater understanding of behaviours.• Developing effective emotional and practical coping strategies.• Re-evaluating perceptions and past experiences, this often leads us to become more self-accepting. Examples include: • Checking and rechecking actions (such as turning out the lights and locking the door) • Excessive counting • Excessive fear of germs • The compulsion to repeatedly wash the hands to ward off infection • Mental Rituals The person usually recognizes that the behaviour is excessive or unreasonable. Medication and CBT together are considered to be better than either treatment alone at reducing symptoms. Psychotherapy can also be used to: • Provide effective ways of reducing stress • Reduce anxiety • Resolve inner conflicts Please call to arrange an initial assessment for your specific issues. Initial Meeting This may be your first time entering therapy; here is a list of what we have seen to be true for many people about therapy: •It takes time to establish a trusting relationship with a therapist. •It is important to go at your own pace and not overwhelm yourself.  •We all resist change. Don’t be surprised if you are tempted to quit right before some real changes or breakthroughs are about to happen. •Becoming more healthy and balanced can feel very unfamiliar and uncomfortable at first. •Therapy is hard work. •Some therapy is short term (usually focusing on one issue and situation) and other therapy may be longer term (more than one or complex issues.)  •Expect your therapist to hold strong boundaries, be ethical, and treat you with respect.  •Remember that therapy, in the hands of a skilled therapist, is a powerful and life-changing experience. It has been shown to be effective for a variety of difficulties and problems. If you need therapy and work as an active participant in your own treatment, you can expect it will be well worth the time and money you invest.

OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is the name given to a condition in which people experience repetitive and upsetting thoughts and/or behaviours. OCD has two main features: Obsessions and Compulsions. Obsessions: Obsessions can come in the form of involuntary thoughts, images or impulses. Common obsessions include, but are not limited to: fears about dirt, germs and contamination. Fear of acting out violent or aggressive thoughts or impulses. Unreasonable fears of harming others, especially loved ones. Abhorrent blasphemous or sexual thoughts. Inordinate concern with order, arrangement or symmetry. Inability to discard useless or worn out possessions. Fears that things are not safe, especially household appliances. The main features of obsessions are that they are automatic, frequent, upsetting or distressing, and difficult to control or get rid of. Compulsions: Just as with obsessions, there are many types of compulsions. It is common for people to carry out a compulsion in order to reduce the anxiety they feel from an obsession. Common compulsions include excessive washing and cleaning, checking, repetitive actions such as touching, counting, arranging and ordering. Hoarding, ritualistic behaviours that lessen the chances of provoking an obsession (e.g. putting all sharp objects out of sight). Acts which reduce obsessional fears (e.g. wearing only certain colours). Compulsions can be observable actions, for example washing, but they can also be mental rituals such as repeating words or phrases, counting, or saying a prayer. Again, not all types of compulsions are listed here. The main features of compulsions are they are repetitive and stereotyped actions that the person feels forced to perform. People can have compulsions without having obsessional thoughts but, very often, these two occur together. Carrying out a compulsion reduces the person’s anxiety and makes the urge to perform the compulsion again stronger each time
