Biography:

I have trained as a chartered clinical psychologist in London. I started work in the NHS and since 1989 I have worked exclusively in the private sector. I practice mainly CBT, psychotherapy and counselling. Most of my current clinical work is with adults but I have also been trained in work with children and adolescents. I have attended many post-qualification courses.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the government regulating body. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and adhere to their professional code of ethics.

  • Goodmayes Hospital: work with adults – inpatients, outpatients and in neighbouring GP practice
  • St Mary’s Hospital, Department of Child Psychiatry, Paddington Green: work with children, parents and families
  • Chase Farm Hospital: work with physically disabled adults and people with chronic illnesses
  • Brent Association for Disabled People (charity): counselling work with adults with physical disability and chronic illnesses
  • Bounds Green GP Surgery (primary care): attachment providing short-term counselling and therapy to individuals and couples from GP surgery

I jointly founded the Independent Psychology Service, a network of therapists. More recently I founded The Psychology Practice, a network of clinical psychologists based in North and Central London. I am also a member of Ask a Child Therapist, an organisation providing medico-legal reports in family law cases.

Having been in private practice for over 20 years, I have extensive clinical experience. This includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Treatment), short and long-term psychotherapy and counselling.

Post-qualification courses include:

  • Seminars in Psychotherapy, Tavistock Clinic

  • Child Observation course, Tavistock Clinic

  • Trauma course, Tavistock Clinic

  • CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre

  • Forensic Issues, Portman Clinic
