Anticipating a hip replacement and needing to lose weight. I was given an appointment with a physio Dotty at the clinic for whom I coincidentally happened to receive a personal recommendation. At about the same time from another person, I had met at the Langton pool who had seen her himself regarding his rehab after a knee operation and speaks highly of her.
Dotty helped me prepare mentally and physically for the operation. She has made special arrangements for me to be part of a beginners Pilates class which she runs so that I could start exercising appropriately from about a week after the operation.
Dotty has used manipulation, massage to make walking easier and help the process of healing. Dotty acutely observes, assesses gait, has made recommendations about exercising in a swimming pool and on an exercise bike.
My experience with everybody at the clinic has been marvellous. Including the receptionist Mash who took my original call and advised me in the first instance how Dotty would be able to help on diet.
In fact, I have lost a stone but Dotty has not focused on weight loss specifically only increasing mobility, awareness and fitness by means of Pilates.
