About Thorpes Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic - Fleet

Chartered physiotherapists treat patients suffering from painful musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and sports injuries at these three clinics located at Sandhurst, Yateley and Fleet in Hampshire. The aim of the team is to help patients recover their normal mobility in the shortest possible time and prevent the condition or injury from recurring. Conditions treated include backache, muscle and joint pain, sprains, sports injuries and arthritis related aches and pains. Services provided include sports rehabilitation, massage therapy, back pain services, post injury and post operative rehabilitation, exercise therapy, pilates and posture correction and advice.

Biography:

Jonathan graduated at the University of Huddersfield, obtaining a 1st class BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Since then he has specialised in Orthopaedic Medicine, obtaining both a Masters Degree (MSc) and Fellowship in Orthopaedic Medicine (FSOM).  Jonathan is one of only 12 people with these qualifications within the UK. He also has Diplomas in Advanced Clinical Practice and Injection Therapy.   

Jonathan lectures in the UK on Orthopaedic Medicine courses to both GP’s and Physiotherapists and was a guest speaker at the 2008 national Orthopaedic Medicine Symposium (see award link).  He has extensive experience in assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries.
Jonathan works part-time in the NHS as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist, specialising in the assessment and treatment of both upper and lower limb conditions.  Through this work, he has formed excellent working relationships with some of the most highly regarded Orthopaedic Consultants in the area.

Hannah graduated with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Huddersfield in 2003.  Following this she completed her junior rotations at Frimley Park Hospital before moving to Southampton to specialise in neurology.  Having gained invaluable experience in the rehabilitation of many neurological conditions, Hannah returned to Frimley Park 3 years later and is an integral member of the Neurology team.
Hannah’s passion is rehabilitation and she has a special interest in stroke, MS and Guillain Barre syndrome.   Her creative and positive approach is inspiring to her patients.
Hannah works with patients to understand their problems and uses in-depth clinical reasoning to identify causative factors thus ensuring a specific and effective treatment plan.  Hannah ensures that the treatments she provides are evidence based by attending appropriate training and has completed the basic Bobath Course.

Louise Parker (BSc Hons, MCSP SRP) Physiotherapist Louise qualified in 1984 at Prince of Wales School of physiotherapy and has gained over 30 years experience in the NHS and privately. This includes some highly respected hospitals including the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and the Royal United Hospital in Bath, as well as Frimley Park Hospital. Louise has always enjoyed learning new skills and after gaining general physiotherapy experience undertook post graduate training to gain diplomas in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and Orthopaedic Medicine. This has led to a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and in particular spinal problems Out-side work Louise has a love for the out-doors and is a keen Hill walker and mountain biker. Jessica Harrison-Crowley BSc MCSP, HCPC, AACP Physiotherapist Jessica graduated from Nottingham University in 2005 with a First Class (Hons) degree. Prior to this she completed a degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University. Jessica has worked in several different clinical settings, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy since 2008. She has worked at Frimley Park Hospital, Basingstoke Hospital and has been working as a Senior Physiotherapist at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust for the last 6 years, treating both acute and chronic conditions referred by GPs and Consultants. Jessica has completed continued postgraduate courses up to Masters Level. Using her experience and knowledge of injury management, biomechanics, Pilates, and conditioning, Jessica is able to manage individuals and sporting personnel to achieve their specific goals. She has also completed a course in Pregnancy and Post Natal Massage. Marianne is a passionate believer in the benefits of soft tissue therapy for everyone – whether struggling with aches and pains from sport, a physically demanding or stressful job, or indeed any daily activity. Marianne adopts a wide range of soft tissue techniques to ensure that each treatment is tailored to the each person’s unique needs and really enjoys working with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
