5 50 Pilates, Physiotherapist Consultation

Came initially for Pilates classes as I have Parkinson's Disease. I wanted to improve my general fitness to help minimise further degeneration. The initial sessions with Kim identified a muscular problem in my right hip caused by PD impacting on my posture which she treated very expertly. The problem resurfaced months later but was again effectively treated and has not bothered me since.
I have nothing but praise for Kim's excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills. I would have no hesitation in returning for treatment in the future should it be necessary.

Again I have nothing but praise for the clinic and its staff, including those on the reception desk. The Pilates beginner classes I have attended have been excellent. Never more than 10 people in the group with very focused and useful personal feedback throughout each session. Initially with Sarah and later with Francesca and now with Kim. I have been very impressed by the knowledge and teaching capabilities of the physiotherapists. These classes have become very important in my own personal battle with PD. Needless to say, I have recommended the clinic to friends and family.

Went along with back pain. After several Physio sessions I joined a basic Pilates course and have now signed up for an intermediate course.

Excellent, very professional yet friendly service throughout. The first appointment was the same day as I called. My Physio took the time to understand my health properly and treated me successfully. He advised me when I was ready to join a Pilates course, which has been really helpful. Reception staff all quickly learned my name and are very friendly but not at all intrusive. I would definitely come back for any future issues.

Biography:

Paul qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1997 & after working a valuable 2 years in the NHS he established goPhysio, to provide a professional private physiotherapy service in the local area.

Paul has certainly clocked up extensive physiotherapy experience over the years. In addition to his NHS & private practice work, he has worked with the British Army, Hampshire School of Excellence Golf Academy and in a number of workplace & industrial settings.

Although Paul is a Company Director at goPhysio, his main role within the company is as the Clinical Director, happiest when he is treating patients & not on the computer!

Paul is currently furthering his knowledge & training, studying for an MSc in Independent Practice (Physiotherapy) at the University of Brighton.

In his spare time Paul loves exercising outdoors, mountain biking and running in particular.

Why see Kim?

Kim has experience treating a variety of injuries in private practice, from low back pain to sports injuries. She particularly enjoys working with patients post-operatively and also uses her APPI Pilates mat work training regularly to help build core stability and strength. Kim is qualified to use acupuncture as part of her physiotherapy treatments.

Why Physio?

I've always wanted to do something medical and after seeing the impact Physiotherapy had on a relative with Multiple Sclerosis, I knew that Physio was for me. I love the challenge of finding and fixing a problem!

What excites me?

Meeting new people each day and being a part of their recovery. It is incredibly rewarding to help someone reach their goal and get back to normal - whether its walking to the local shop or running a marathon.

When I'm not working?

You can usually find me at home in the kitchen baking - if not, I'll be practicing my Pilates to burn off all the cake I've eaten! I also enjoy going to watch my partner play Rugby and cheering him on (then patching up all his injuries afterwards!).
