"I cannot praise him highly enough both for his care and his expertise"

I had persistent problems with my knee - a cartilage op 15 years ago but the problem had returned and was constant. Chris Pitts took great care assessing my knee and found that the problem wasn't just the cartilage but a misalignment of the joint.

I was given exercises for both which has enabled me to be confident that I can manage and improve the conditions. I cannot praise Chris highly enough both for his care and his expertise. I have been to other physiotherapists but the treatment given by Chris was the most professional I have experienced and amazing value.

The clinic is in a modern well-appointed building - with easy parking. It is well equipped and a pleasant space to be. Chris was welcoming and very quickly put me at my ease. I would highly recommend this clinic.

"After 4 appointments the pain has gone and my flexibility has improved substantially"

I have had a long-standing lower back problem which has been manifesting itself on and off for over 40 years. I have visited many osteopaths, chiropractors and physiotherapists in this country and abroad. Usually I suffer pain and incapacity for at least 6 months every 2 to 3 years so when It started to play up recently I thought I would be in for a long and painful winter.

I was recommended to Chris by two members of my family who had previously been impressed by the treatment they had received so I hobbled into his surgery 3 weeks ago. I have never experienced such a careful and thorough assessment of my condition and has made a diagnosis he recommended some gentle exercises which immediately had a positive effect. Subsequent visits produced further exercises and some light manipulation and now after 4 appointments the pain has gone and my flexibility has improved substantially. I have never known such a quick transformation!

Chris is very knowledgeable and genuine and I always felt that he really wanted to sort me out quickly and not keep me coming back for further appointments. I have no hesitation in recommending his services.

Tim, thanks for your kind words. However, I refuse to take all the credit, you took on board the advice i offered and followed it consistently. It was definitely a "joint effort"...please excuse the pun!

I twisted my knee skiing and it was still uncomfortable after several months. I was looking for reassurance that I hadn't done lasting damage and was given some exercises to strengthen the area and advice on not favoring one leg over the other. It's working!

I attended the clinic on the recommendation of a friend and was very pleased with the treatment. Would recommend to anyone with a muscular- skeletal problem.

My friend recommended Grand Union Physiotherapy and my visit turned out to be a pleasant and rewarding experience. Time was allowed for a detailed consultation and I was given an explanation for the advised exercises; it was reassuring to get follow-up calls to see how I was progressing.

I had been suffering neck and head pain for many months. I went to see Chris on my first appointment, we talked about my symptoms he showed interest in what I was saying and gave me confidence in him. After 6 visits he sorted me out and he gave me some exercise to do and with my input, we have solved my problem.

My experience at the clinic was excellent.

Thanks for your review Roy and thank you for highlighting the point that physio is a "joint effort," no pun intended! It is always a joy to treat people like you, who fully recognize that and follow the advice which we give. People who just want a quick fix, usually only get a temporary one, but those who make the effort to change invariably achieve lasting benefit!

"His expertise, help and support have been invaluable"
100%Reviewed 05 Sep 2017 Review verified by phone.
Treatment Received: Physiotherapist Consultation
Twenty months ago, following an unfortunate accident and subsequent surgery, I was in a wheelchair and on crutches and thus had to 'learn' to walk again. Today I am pretty much back to normal and have Chris to thank for this. His expertise, help and support have been invaluable and I will always be grateful to him for that.

A friend who is treated by Chris recommended him to me. Chris visited me at home for the first few appointments as I was unable to get to the clinic. Without his help, I may not be as well as I am today and I recommend him unreservedly.

"The treatment I received was excellent."

Treatment Received: Physiotherapist Consultation
I went to Grand Union for help with a whiplash injury to my neck. My injury was thoroughly investigated at the start of the first session. It was explained to me how my spine and muscles work and then I was instructed in exercises to ease the problem and refine my posture. The session finished with massage and exercise, which helped a great deal.
I feel that the time and treatment were very good value and I returned for further treatment.

I chose this clinic because I liked the information I received when I phoned and the professional attitude of the staff.
The clinic was easy to find, clean and my appointment was on time. The treatment I received was excellent.

"I would recommend a visit to see Chris to anyone with joint or back pain"
100%Reviewed 15 Nov 2016 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Physiotherapist Consultation
When Chris signed me off at my last visit, I was back to being about the same as I had been for years before the acute episode of sciatica which made me book 3 appointments. Since then the constant ‘normal’ level of discomfort and low level pain in my left hip joint and the sensitivity/numbness in my left leg has improved dramatically. There is still some restriction in movement compared to the right side but I am almost completely pain free – a phenomenon I have not known for well over 10 years! I am able to go for a 3 mile walk without suffering pain afterwards. I can go to sleep on my left side without waking up in pain half an hour later.

I think there may have been a nerve pinched ever since the difficult labour with my daughter, or the back injury 2 years later, and Chris has freed it.

I would recommend a visit to see Chris to anyone with joint or back pain.

I chose this clinic - and Chris - on the basis of two personal recommendations.

"Puts you at ease straight away"

I initially went with problems with my knee. I have subsequently returned with back related issues and been impressed with the detail of Chris’s knowledge and his ability to identify precisely the best methods for me to implement. I would certainly recommend attending this practice for the expertise and the fact that Chris is a really nice person who puts you at ease straight away. It was certainly good value.

My husband recommended that I visit Chris.
Chris was very thorough and gave me advice and demonstrations as to exercises to undertake. He made sure that I was able to copy these effectively. The sessions were accompanied by a Personal Exercise Programme with illustrations and a clear summary as both a reminder and reference tool.

I jumped off a canal lock and shocked my knee. After many weeks it wasn't really improving ... but then ... hurrah ... Chris Pitts with his wonderful diagnostic skills pinpointed just what the issue was and showed me just the right manipulation to help me repair the damage quickly and effectively. Good value? You bet ... a single session and self-help has worked wonders so that I'm back to being totally secure on my feet. Thanks!

Undoubtedly, it's a very smart idea to get advice and help from Grand Union Physio. The good news is that you'll get a clear, focussed diagnosis. Chris really knows his stuff.
