I live in London England. And been suffering with knee pains a while, I was getting hardly and medical help in the UK with the NHS so I had a private scan on both my knees in London and saw a private consultant. I discovered I had to have surgery on both knees. In England that was going to be very expensive and I couldn't afford it and I had a 2 years wait for a NHS hospital, so I decided to go abroad and choose to go to Turkey. I went to the Derindere hospital because I heard good things about it and it was amazing! I was treated like a king! My brother came with me for support and he was looked after as well. We was collected from the airport in Istanbul and taken straight to the hospital, when there I had x rays, mri scans, bloods tests and covid tests. Muhammad (my translater) then took my brother and I out to dinner in local restaurant. The next day I went to theatre to have surgery on both knees which all went well. After I was taken to my private room very happy with everything. The staff in the hospital are wonderful 10/ 10 perfect. The food and service 10/10 amazing. After my 2 nights in hospital my brother and I was taken to their 5 star hotel for conflession. The food everything was excellent. I was supposed to stay in Istanbul 9 nights but stayed longer because of bad weather freezing cold and heavy snow! So had 12 days in total, I had no extra money to pay as flights were cancelled. Muhammad and all the hospital staff were great all the hotel staff were great. I'm very pleased to have had my treatment there and would recommend anyone to go there. Many thanks.

From the moment I arrived, he guided me through every step—assisting with paperwork, coordinating with the doctor, and checking in on me throughout my blood transfusion. Omer’s kindness, patience, and professionalism were evident from the start. Here is a layer of tissue,called fascia, under the skin of palm which helps to keep the skin from sliding around when we grip things. In some people, this tissue thickens and shrinks, and pulls on the skin and and on the fingers(figure 1 ). Dupuytren’s disease is observed usually in men over 40. Frequency is more in diabetic ones. Ring and small fingers are affected more. Any relationship between patient’s occupation and the disease is not proven. Swollen and bent fingers are seen in the examination. Extension is limited depending on the severity of the disease. Palmar noduls are typically painless. Sometimes it is confused with trigger finger at the early stages. Patients have serious difficulties in hand washing, hand shaking, wearing gloves etc…..  Progress rate changes from patient to patient. Existence of nodules is not an indication for surgery itself. Steroid injections on nodules may decrease the rate of progression in selected cases. If the angle between the affected finger and palm is equal or more than 70 degrees, surgery is considred. The affected part of the palm fascia and its extensions are removed. To be able to protect vital structures such as vessels, nerves and tendons is important. Sometimes skin grafts from other parts of the body may be needed. Wound care, massage, exercises and splinting is important to get the best result and prevent recurrence.
