Balance Sports Massage - Massage Clinic in the UK

Balance Sports Massage

2 Red Studios Elm Grove, Wimbledon, London, SW19 4BX
Balance Sports Massage is located at Red Studios, Elm Grove, Wimbledon. Jambaal has been a sports and remedial soft tissue therapist for twelve years. In that time, she has treated over 10,000 bodies. Having initially trained as a clinical soft tissue therapist with a Level 5 qualification in Sports and Remedial Massage, she has curated her CPD (Continued Professional Development) journey to focus on problem solving. With qualifications on osteopathic testing and spinal manipulation for effective joint mobilisation to dry needling, functional myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, visceral manipulation, spinal alignment/back pain therapy, and Pilates for a deeper understanding of core and spinal integrity; she can see a client’s treatment through to rehabilitation. She has a deep understanding of the body’s mechanical interactions and how they are affected by soft tissue dysfunction. Massage therapy is generally well known for stress relief and relaxation. While she does provide these services, remedial therapy goes beyond that. People generally ask what the treatment entails; she treats based on results of postural and movement tests, current presenting symptoms and of course one's own subjective assessment, ie. what you feel. A treatment will then use a combination of the above named techniques to get the best results in the long term, by addressing presenting symptoms as well as their underlying causes. She also gives aftercare advice to rebalance muscle function. S
Deep Tissue Massage £70 - £80
Normally at the first session with a client, this includes a questionnaire geared towards understanding a clients medical and soft tissue history, lifestyle and work habits, postural and biomechanical analysis, including range of motion tests and palpation (which is an initial assessment by touch of clients soft tissue behaviour). All the information gathered from the questionnaire and tests will go towards understanding a clients problem, what may be causing it and how best to address it. From this, a treatment plan is drawn. While this plan aims to be as thorough as possible, it is not set in stone and changes may be made as the treatment progresses to address subsequent findings and accommodate clients lifestyle activity and response to treatment. This process is the reason why a clients first session will normally last an hour and a half including an initial treatment. It could be more if the client has a long injury history.

Massage £30 - £85
Therapeutic Massage can be suitable to treat muscular tension, pain and stiffness. When we get tense or stressed, our muscles build up lactic acid ‘knots’ which prevent them from working smoothly. As a result of this process, muscles pull our bones out of their correct alignment which can lead to poor posture, pain and other problems. Massage helps to break down these knots relaxing the muscles Being aware of the stigma attached to massage it might be important to reassure potential clients that I am a professional Holistic Massage Therapist and I offer my treatments respecting the client's modesty at all times. The client is covered in soft towels, which are turned back to reveal only the area to be massaged at that time. Areas massaged in a full body massage are normally, back, neck, shoulders, arms, front of shoulders, front and back of legs, feet, head and face. However, in order to offer the most effective soothing and healing treatment every session can be tailored to the areas that need most work, for example: back, neck, shoulders and feet depending on the needs and preferences of the client. Client is welcome to choose one of the offered organic massage oils for the most relaxing effect.
MLD - Manual Lymphatic Drainage £30 - £85
This powerful, yet subtle technique can reduce or prevent fluid retention (lymph), enhance the removal of toxins from body tissues, and support the immune system. The lymphatic system is responsible for helping fluid and waste leave the body and for regulating the immune system. When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, fluid builds up and stagnates, causing the entire system to become toxic, making us feel sluggish and more susceptible to viral or contagious diseases. By stimulating this system through massage, it works more efficiently, which in turn boosts the immune system, clears blockages, eliminates toxins, transports nutrients to cells and increases the metabolism. Unlike some other form of massage, lymphatic drainage utylises very light pressure as many lymph vessels can be found just under the surface of the skin. In order to move the lymph the only very light touch is required, barely the weight of a teaspoon of water.  Practitioners use flat hands ans finger pads, in painless, rhythmic pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes.
Reflexology
Reflexology £30 - £60
Reflexology, which has its roots in ancient Egypt, China and India, works on the principle that every organ and system of the body has a corresponding point or zone in the feet.  For example, the spot in the centre of the big toe corresponds to the pituitary gland, and on the ball of the foot underneath the big toe there is a point that corresponds to the glands. Tension or congestion in any part of the foot mirrors tension or congestion in a corresponding part, and treating the whole foot may have a deeply relaxing and healing effect on the whole body. Our ancestors walked and ran barefoot over uneven ground. As a result of it, the nerve endings and reflex points on the feet received regular, natural massage as they moved around.  On the contrary, nowdays we spend much of our time sitting down, and when we do walk, it is on hard, flat surfaces, wearing thick-soled shoes to cushion our feet.  Women sometimes wear high heels putting extra pressure on some areas, and failing to stimulate others. Using practitioner's thumb pressure to massage each point on the feet and ankles, Reflexology works towards bringing the body into a state of balance, encouraging the its systems to work to their optimum and enabling self-healing processes. Reflexology can be used to treat a wide range of disorders including skin and respiratory conditions, migraine, PMS and menopausal problems, chronic fatigue, stress, depression and anxiety.  This holistic therapy can be used both to help with conditions such as, for example, eczema, insomnia, bronchitis or it can be used to keep the body’s energy flowing and the mind in balance.
