Tradition Thai Massage is and ancient form of therapeutic healing. Its roots are in India where it was brought to Thailand over 2000 years ago by Ayurvedic doctors and Buddhist monks. It combines pressure, energy balancing, stretching and applied yoga exercises. Traditional Thai Foot Massage is a unique and powerful therapy. Using thumbs, hands and a wooden acupressure tool, massage is applied to the legs and feet through rubbing, kneading, stretching and vibration techniques. Pressure points are areas along the “energy lines” which are called “Sen Lines” in Thailand. By focusing on these Sen Lines, we work on Reflex or pressure points on the feet which correspond to various internal organs, through which life, energy, Prana, chi, or Ki flows. By working along the Sen Lines with pressure and by stretching the lines, blocked energy can be released and functions balanced. Practice The massage recipient changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. The receiver may be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, but deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the massage.
