The surgery was painlessThomas, UK, 07 07 25

I had RLE surgery performed by Dr Petr Novak and his team approximately 4 weeks ago. The surgery was painless (really) The first eye was done on a Wednesday and the other on the following Friday, less than three days later. My eyesight, distance, reading and in-between are now better than I expected. I have a pile of redundant bifocal pairs of glasses which will never be used by me again, thanks to Dr Novak and his team.

Cataract Surgery from 19500 Kč
During cataract surgery, the surgeon first removes the cloudy natural lens from the eye and in most cases replaces it with a clear artificial intraocular lens. The surgery is usually ambulatory and does not require hospitalisation. Most modern cataract surgeries are carried out using a high-frequency ultrasound device that divides the cloudy lens into minuscule pieces. These fragments are subsequently gently suctioned out of the eye. This method, known as  phacoemulsification (or simply phaco), is performed using much smaller incisions than were used in previous surgical techniques for the elimination of a cataract. These incisions enable faster healing and reduce the risk of complications such as for example the detachment of the retina.  Once all the bits of the affected lens are removed from within the eye, the surgeon inputs the clear new artificial intraocular lens. The surgeon then secures the lens in the area beyond the iris and pupil – into the exact same spot where your natural lens was original. The surgeon then completes the procedure by closing the incisions in the eye (sutures may or may not be used) and a protective bandage is placed over the eye.
RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange
PRELEX (Presbyopic Lens Exchange) from 29000 Kč
The term PRELEX is used to describe a surgical method whereby we replace the natural lens with an artificial multifocal or EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) lens. The surgery takes place as part of an outpatient clinic and the operated eye is desensitised using eye drops. At the same time medication dilating the pupil is administered, so that the lens positioned behind the colourful iris, becomes accessible for the surgical procedure. In patients that are very nervous or anxious, it is possible to administer a calming pill. The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes. In some clinics, both eyes are operated on at the same time. At our clinic, we opt to only operate one eye at a time for several reasons. The other eye is operated on within 2 days from the first surgery. The main surgical incision is done through the cornea. Depending on the type of implant, the incision is most commonly 2 to 2.5 mm wide and because of its self-sealing property, there is no need for sutures.
RLE - Refractive Lensectomy from 19500 Kč
RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange) is a general name for a method, whereby a transparent lens (without any signs of cataract) is replaced by an artificial lens (monofocal or multifocal). This method is used in patients with any of the following: short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia. Recovery was quick, and the follow-up care was thoroughJanes, UK, 20 06 25

I recently underwent lens replacement surgery with Sandonia in Prague, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From the very beginning, the team was professional, supportive, and attentive to all my questions and concerns. The clinic itself is modern, clean, and staffed by highly skilled surgeons who made me feel completely at ease. The surgery went smoothly, and my vision improved dramatically. I no longer need glasses for distance, and my overall eyesight is sharper than it has been in years. Recovery was quick, and the follow-up care was thorough. I highly recommend Sandonia to anyone considering lens replacement surgery abroad. Great value, expert care, and a welcoming team made all the difference for me. Thank you, Sandonia!
