In 2007 (Chigam 1st), We commenced our services in the Varkala Court Road premises as the Urban Health Centre of Sree Uthradom Thirunal Medical College.

Vatsalya Child Care(VCC)  is one of the unique concept of multidimensional child care,in which we don't let the child feel that he or she is in a traditional clinic. The child enters the facility through recreation zones like toy library and play zone where he is made to indulge in fun and relaxing activity by trained nurses before exposing to clinic.  The staff is all young female who enjoy interacting with child. The centre is headed by Dr Pradeep Jain ,an MD in pediatrics and neonatology and widely experienced at leading hospitals of city,state and country. We handle child as child and not just patient. All the patients are evaluated thoroughly and an effort is made to make definitive diagnosis before starting definitive treatment.  The centre is equipped with all useful OPD equipments like pulse oxymeter which can read blood oxygen level from skin probe,Non invasive blood pressure monitor, oxygen concentrator which can make95% oxygen from room air,nebuliser, otoscope for ear examination,ophthalmoscope for internal examination of eye,digital weighing scales for infant,newborn and older child,,vision charts  ,hearing screening,transcutaneous bilicheck to read jaundice level(bilirubin) from skin of newborn,infantometer and stadiometer to measure length and height of child across 2 years of age.
