Acne scars are removed using nonsurgical aesthetic procedures including chemical peels, where an acid is used to peel off the top layer of skin, microdermabrasion, where abrasive crystals are sprayed onto the skin to remove the top layer, anti-aging injectables to make the skin smooth and plump, skin needling procedures, laser assisted skin resurfacing and surgical skin grafting procedures.

Is Acne Scar Treatment painful?

Nonsurgical procedures to treat acne scarring are not painful. Laser assisted treatments are performed after putting numbing creams or after administering a local anaesthetic. Surgical skin grafting procedures are performed using general anaesthesia. Patients will not feel any pain during procedures.

Skin Camouflage is the application of waterproof camouflage creams to cover any scar, birthmark or tattoo, matching the exact tone of your skin. It is completely safe and highly effective in temporarily disguising your scar, birthmark or tattoo. Skin camouflage is an excellent alternative to surgery. It is completely painless and very affordable. During your appointment, I will spend time matching the area of skin you wish to camouflage with one of the many skin camouflage creams.  Depending on the coverage required, we will choose the correct colour and brand that YOU are happy with. Once we have agreed on a colour, I will teach you the correct application technique for the area.  You will complete the application yourself (or if you have a person with you, they can).  The main objective of a Skin Camouflage session is for you to leave feeling empowered knowing how to self-apply your camouflage cream whenever you feel the need to use it. Camouflage creams are waterproof for up to 3 days and are very simple to remove when required. One appointment is sometimes all that a client needs to feel empowered and confident to apply the camouflage creams themselves.
