I would just like to say thank you for the way my appointment went last Friday (09/06/2023). I had been experiencing a nagging ache from a broken / fractured wisdom tooth for 3 to 4 weeks. My dentist referred me to the team at Leagrave as he had experienced trouble extracting it. I had a session of intravenous sedation and the tooth was out in around 30 minutes. Today less than 24 hours after the appointment is the first day I have not had to take tablets for pain. Thank you to all at Leagrave for the service you gave.

I had an appointment with Iwona the hygienist this morning. I must admit I was not looking forward to it! however I came away feeling fantastic! My teeth have never been cleaned so well! She was so professional and you could tell she knew what she was doing! She was very gentle but firm! My teeth have never looked so clean! I cannot recommend her enough! I do not usually write reviews but she is so good she is worth my time to write this! Also I must mention Catalina who was there assisting her, lovely girl, pleasant and also very professional! They made a great team. All in all a very pleasant experience.

My lower denture which had been mounted on the bar system had broken and it was decided to make a new denture and mounting system. This proved quite difficult and time-consuming, however throughout this treatment Dr Nick was keeping me informed and mindful of my trepidation. Towards the completion of this treatment Nick spent time over and above what had been allocated to make sure the fit of the denture was perfect, and for that I am very grateful. All in all I felt Forest & Ray are very friendly and professional Dental surgery and in particular Dr Nick.

"All-on-4" term refers to “all” teeth being supported “on four” dental implants. As a result, just 4 implants can replace all teeth in your upper or lower jaw even in a day! The first step is a thorough consultation at Forest & Ray, where the implantologist explains the procedure, examines your teeth, makes an X-ray, and refers you to a CT scan. We carefully assess all the information. If you are eligible for the treatment and happy with our proposal, we can book you for the implant placement. On the day of the surgery all 4 implants are inserted in the morning. The procedure is easy and painless (implants are inserted under local anaesthetic) and safe for your health. Our technician will work hard to get your teeth done and within a few hours, you will leave with your brand new smile. The ultimate healing time, when the implants incorporate into your jawbone, is around 3 months. During this time you will see us a couple of times to monitor your progress. After the healing time, we will prepare your permanent teeth within a few short appointments to make you smile happily every day.

Dental Implants: the process of osseointegration is the real secret behind the success of dental implants. Osseointegration is a natural process that is as important to the success of the dental (and other implants) as the story of its discovery is interesting. Like many very useful scientific discoveries, the process of what we now call osseointegration also came to light by chance. It was in 1940, almost a century ago, that Bothe and colleagues were experimenting with titanium as a prosthesis material for fractures in animal legs. Since that time, osseointegration has been studied extensively. As of 2016, titanium alloys are the preferred choice for dental implants and other surgical implants. The alloying is done to modify the mechanical properties of titanium as desired. Bone cells grow onto the surface of the metal, and the bond is mature in three to six months. It is for this reason that in routine implant placement procedures, dentists like to give a gap of about three to six months after installation of implants before a prosthesis is built over them. When implants are loaded in a single day, the dentists advise patients not to burden their implants with hard food initially. We shall discuss more conventional and same-day implant loading in more detail in the preceding chapters.
