He graduated from The State University of Medicine and Dentistry in Moscow, Russia with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Nikolaev completed a three year certificate program in Paediatric Dentistry at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Oromaxillofacial surgery of The State University of Medicine and Dentistry in Moscow.

During dental school and residency he interest in oral and maxillofacial reconstructive surgery led him to an externship with Topolnitsky Orest Z., DDS, MD in Cleft and Palate Department.Dr. Nikolaev observed and assisted with multiple and complex oral surgery and reconstructive cases.

While in Cleft and Palate Department Dr.Nikolaev became very involved with working with children who were developmentally or mentally disabled providing comprehensive care under general anaesthesia.

Member of IAPD (International Assosiation of Paediatric Dentistry).

Since qualifying, he has worked in a variety of dental facilies including maxillofacial and oral surgery in The Cleft and Palate Department of the Hospital of State University of Medicine and Dentistry.
