Dental or oral cysts are a fairly common occurrence in the mouth. In addition to cysts that grow along the gum line, this may also grow on the inside of the cheek, the tongue, as well as the floor of the mouth. A cyst is medically defined as a fluid filled sac or pouch, but can also appear as a growth of any kind, including an irregularly shaped patch of skin. Regardless, this should be removed and tested by your dentist or oral surgeon to ensure that growth is benign (harmless) as opposed to malignant (cancerous). What are Oral Cysts?Several forms or types of cysts may develop in the mouth cavity. Oral cysts are also called dental cysts, as well as periapical, odontogenic or radicular cysts. Dental cysts are a very common form of an odontogenic cysts. In most cases, such cysts are caused by infections that result in the pulp or inner portion of the tooth becoming infected and causing resultant decay, as well as the development of fluid filled sacs or inflamed tissue. Fluids contained within such as sacs or cysts may be sterile or infected. If not treated, infectious fluids may be reabsorbed and spread infection to other locations in the body. Types of Oral Cysts The most common types of oral cysts include: Periapical cyst - also known as a radicular cyst, these are the most common of odontogenic cyst types. The tooth becomes infected, leading to death of pulp tissues. Infected matter and toxins may escape through the apex (bottommost portion) of the tooth, leading to infection of surrounding tissues as well as the development of cysts caused by skin or gum tissue caused by lack of adequate blood supply.Keratocyst - This cyst is often difficult to diagnose, and results pertaining to content must rely on laboratory tests. Wisdom Tooth Extraction
A wisdom tooth, in humans, is any of the usually four third molars. Wisdom teeth usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25.[1] Most adults have four wisdom teeth, but it is possible to have more, in which case they are called supernumerary teeth. Wisdom teeth commonly affect other teeth as they develop, becoming impacted or "coming in sideways." They are often extracted when this occurs. About 35% of the population do not develop wisdom teeth at all.[2]

Rating from 9 Reviews The clinic is very private and the dentist spends a lot of time with her patientsRoel, Netherlands, 17 Jun 18

I’d gone with a friend to his appointment and thought the dentist did a really good job. Since I’m in Greece quite often for work, I chose to get treatment done here. Not only was it a lot cheaper than it is in Holland, but the quality is the same or even better. They quoted me for the root canal and crown before the appointment. The clinic is very private and the dentist spends a lot of time with her patients. This is not something I experienced before. She wasn’t rushed at all and this made me feel really comfortable.

Root canal Immediately seen, had root canal done and no pain and comfortable entire process. He was better than any dentist I've seen. I wish I could use him again, but I live in US. Dental Implants 700 € - 1000 €
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root (synthetic material) that is surgically anchored into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place. The benefit of using implants is that they don't rely on neighbouring teeth for support, they are permanent and stable. Implants are a good solution to tooth loss, because they look and feel like natural teeth. Implant material is made from different types of metallic and bone-like ceramic materials that are compatible with body tissue. There are placed directly into the jaw bone, like natural tooth roots. Strategically placed, implants can be used to support permanently cemented bridges, eliminating the need for a denture.

Skourasdent Clinic

Vasilisis Sophias 48, next to Hilton hotel, Athens, 11528
Rating from 5 Reviews It feels wonderful to have a beautiful smileAurelija, Greece, 03 Feb 16

I had gum treatment from advanced gingivitis and bite correction with zirconia crowns in Skourasdent clinic. I started from gum treatment and consultation about many other issues (decay, crooked teeth, etc) that needed to be solved. I was ready for bigger reconstruction and came across this clinic while searching for a trustworthy clinic in Athens. Dr. Skoura got to know my needs and examined overall health of the teeth, we discussed options and made personalized treatment plan based on the health priorities, my abilities and time. I was presented with a few options and chose the rapid treatment for quick results. The result of the gum treatment was significantly and instantly improved health of gums which added a lot of comfort for everyday life. Later on we started with root canal treatments, fillings, bridge and crowns for problematic teeth. After the bite correction with zirconium crowns I have straight nicely aligned teeth and greatly improved look, my bite became stronger. The zirconium crowns and bridge feels very natural and I got used to them quickly. Many of the corrected teeth were front teeth, so the change is really pleasing. I am very happy about the results and it feels wonderful to have a beautiful smile. Dr. Skoura is highly experienced professional, who enjoys working on challenging cases. Being confident with her skills and knowledge, she takes decisions bravely yet deliberately. We had great communication and I enjoyed her vibrant and strong personality. Doctors working with her were very skillful, gentle and thorough with work as well. They were very flexible to adjust to my time schedule for appointments and my wish to undergo the treatment quickly. Many thanks to Dr. Skoura and her team.

Treatment of Dental Abscess from 250 €
A tooth abscess is a pocket of pus that's caused by a bacterial infection.  Dentists will treat a tooth abscess by draining it and getting rid of the infection. They may be able to save your tooth with a root canal treatment, but in some instances it may need to be pulled. Leaving a tooth abscess untreated can lead to serious, even life-threatening, complications.
