"Overall, I had a great experience, the dentist was friendly and definitely knew what she was doing"

Treatment Received: Dental Crowns
I booked an appointment with Dr. Blazenka prior to my holidays so everything would be organised.

Dr. Blazenka Bilandžic was very professional as she gave all the required information through email and she was very easy to talk to. She was very kind, gentle and patient with me. I needed a crown on one of my molars and she was very professional with it. The crown was also a perfect fit; it didn't even need any adjustment.

Overall, I had a great experience, she was friendly and definitely knew what she was doing! Thanks again to Dr. Blazenka Bilandžic.

"The work and capability of the dentist was superb"
4.7 50Reviewed 14 Jun 2010 Verified user.
Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
Were you pleased with the treatment? I was totally delighted with the service I recieved. Split_Dent were the only one's that replied with a price list and directions. The work and capability of the dentist was superb.
Would you recommend the clinic? I would highly recommend the clinic. I could't say enough good things about them. I had my fair share of dentists over the years and my experiences of being ripped off in Ireland is over.
Would you return for further treatment? I have allready booked myself in for next year on a return visit.

Dental Bonding
A procedure where we use a special dental adhesives between the tooth surface and another material. The tooth is first chemically treated with a special dental acid which causes microscopic porosites in the enamel. The adhesives form a bond with the bonding material. These materials come in various colors and shades. There are also flowable and dough-like materials. Today’s materials are also highly polishable, very strong and last quite a long time. Some even contain fluoride which aids in preventing new cavities from forming. Bonding uses include restoring chips, filling holes, spaces or discolorations.

Dental Bridges
A bridge is generally placed when a tooth is missing and there are teeth on either side to support a connecting piece to restore function and esthetics to the area. We offer a wide range of crowns and bridges which include: full porcelain (IPS IMPRESS), porcelain fused to metal, porcelain fused to titanium, and porcelain fused to zirconium.

Dental Crowns
Crowns are placed over a tooth when a large portion of the tooth is lost or decayed or has broken off and there is a risk for further fracture or undue stress. Usually, when a filling is more than half of the size of the tooth, the tooth is weakened. If the filling would comprise a significant portion of the tooth, often the tooth can fracture under the stresses of chewing and therefore, placing a crown over the tooth protects the chewing surface and prevents that from happening.

Dentures, Plastic
Dentures are false teeth. They are typically made from impressions (molds) that are taken of the inside of the mouth and they are made of a type of plastic or porcelain that duplicates the shape, size and function of the teeth. When only some teeth are replaced, it is called a "partial denture".

Inlay or Onlay
This is a highly esthetic, non-metallic restoration that is bonded on the prepared tooth to restore the beauty, strength and function of the tooth. The procedure is similar to that of a crown, however we try to maintain as much sound tooth structure as possible. An accurate impression is taken of the tooth, a temporary filling is placed and a porcelain restoration is fabricated by the dental laboratory. Upon return, the tooth is chemically prepared, and the inlay/onlay is bonded onto the prepared tooth. The bite is adjusted and polished. The tooth is once again functionally restored to its almost natural form. Traditional fillings can reduce the strength of a natural tooth by up to 50 percent. As an alternative, inlays and onlays, which are bonded directly onto the tooth using special high-strength resins, can actually increase the strength of a tooth by up to 75 percent. As a result, they can last from 10 to 30 years. In some cases, where the damage to the tooth is not extensive enough to merit an entire crown, onlays can provide a very good alternative.

Root canals
A root canal is typically done whenever the decay or injury to the tooth invades the inner part of the tooth where the pulp is. This is where the nerve and the blood supply are located. When a root canal is done, the inner portion of the pulp is removed, along with any infection that may have invaded the inside walls of the tooth. Then a sealer material is placed with a rubbery plastic to fill the hole so that new infection can't get into the tooth. Generally, by removing the nerve and blood supply to the tooth, it can potentially weaken a tooth and therefore, it is common to protect the integrity of the tooth by placing a crown over the tooth.

Veneers
Veneers are porcelain wafers that are laboratory fabricated and are bonded onto the tooth. They are highly esthetic and lifelike. They are designed to correct colors, sizes, shapes, spaces and alignments of teeth. They are stronger and more durable than composites.
