Dr. A. Mandrekas graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1975, the same year he graduated from the Military Medical School and part of the manpower of the Navy, which served there until 1995, and retired with the rank of Captain. In 1981 he received the title of General Surgery after a four-year education in Hospitals: Naval Hospital, Hope, Immaculate.
In 1984 he took the title specialty of Plastic Surgery in the UK having worked in hospitals Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, UK - Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehamton, UK - Saint Thoma's Hospital, London, UK), and in 1985 received the title of honorary doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Athens. From 1984-1985 retraining in the USA (New York - Springfield & Norfolk). Visiting Professor at New York - Springfield.
Founder and director of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Athens Naval Hospital for 9 consecutive years (1986-1995) has trained a large number of plastic surgeons, while issuing seven books, he wrote in Greek. To date, continuously monitoring the developments in the field of medicine and in particular of plastic surgery have been published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed international medical journals.
Participates actively in many Greek and international conferences as a speaker and also is co-organizer of the International Conference IMAFR where held in 2009 in Mykonos and Kos in 2011 with great success.
He was President of the Greek Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery for four years from 2009 to 2013.
Member of the editorial board of the international journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and a member of many international companies such as ISAPS, IPRAS, BMA, BMC, ASPS, etc.
