Dr. Demetris Stavrou was born in Nicosia. He grew up in a family of doctors and soon understood the special relationship between doctor and patient. He graduated from the University of Athens Medical School and finished his residency in Plastic Surgery at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel-Hashomer, Israel. There he was trained in the latest techniques of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery from world known scientists. He continued his training with a fellowship in “Advanced Aesthetic Surgery” at the prestigious Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery. His interest in breast reconstruction after breast cancer and cosmetic procedures following weight loss surgery was evident from the start. He also had the chance to train in specialized techniques for facelift, burn reconstruction and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Stavrou is constantly updated with the most modern techniques in plastic surgery and is in cooperation with big medical centers abroad where he is still working as a visiting surgeon. He has a constant interest in research and has published a number of scientific articles.

In the course of more than 20 years of his professional career Dr. Blaschke always placed great emphasis on broad international experience. He received solid medical and general surgical training in Germany and overseas. Dr. Blaschke served in the world famous Cardiac Surgery Unit in Cape Town and in General Surgery and Trauma Departments in Germany and South Africa. The running of a large Burns Unit in South Africa, training with Hand and Brachial Plexus surgeons in South Africa and Microsurgeons in Taiwan led to an appointment in Germany's largest Burns and Trauma Unit in Ludwigshafen. This was followed by the Department of Plastic Surgery in Duesseldorf, which specializes in Breast and Aesthetic Surgery. He used extensive visits to international centres of excellence in Plastic and Aesthetic surgery such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo to familiarize himself with the latest techniques.With his international background he maintains multiple personal contacts with Plastic Surgeons all over the world. This enables him to stay ahead of the rapid progress in his field. Dr. Blaschke regularly shares his experience with his colleagues in the course of international meetings.
