The Harley Street Chiropractic Clinic at The Bowskill Clinic, 4 Duke Street, London, W1U 3EL
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, especially those of the spine, and their effects on the nervous system. Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in movement are found. This improves mobility and relieves pain. Poor, inadequate or incorrect function of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves that control your posture and movement. By adjusting joints, chiropractors stimulate the joint movement receptors affecting the way your nervous system works. On first meeting you, the chiropractor will take a detailed history of your health, your reasons for seeking a consultation and a full examination will then be undertaken. Sometimes treatment is immediate, at other times it may be necessary to seek further information from your GP or to arrange x-rays, blood or urine tests. Your individual needs and your role in the treatment plan will be discussed and considered with you at all times. Chiropractic care mainly involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint, resulting in an audible ‘crack’ as the joint is released, bringing relief of symptoms. The crack is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released. This is known as an ‘adjustment.’ Generally, chiroprac

Owain Gwynfryn Evans DC, MChiro, MRCC, FBCA Owain Evans DC, MChiro, MRCC, FBCAGCC Registered Doctor of ChiropracticI graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2009 and spent the next 15 years obsessing over structural integrity. After building and selling an award-winning practice in Clapham, I founded MotionFix to provide a more precise, mechanical level of care. My perspective is shaped by my work as a professional Opera singer (MMus, 2023). I understand that for high-performers, 'good enough' movement isn't an option. I don't just treat symptoms; I recalibrate the structural framework for people who need their bodies to function at full capacity.
