Excessive underarm sweating - Hyperhidrosis Excessive sweating, medically known as Hyperhidrosis, involves overactive sweat glands.  This can disrupt many aspects of ones life, including career choice, recreational activities, relationships, emotional well being and self esteem. After the first treatment, the effects of the muscle relaxant last an average of 7 months.  However the amount of time the relaxant remains active may vary from person to person. Treatments work by entering the specific glands in the underarms responsible for excessive sweating.  There, it blocks the release of a chemical that signals the body to produce perspiration. Generally this procedure only takes 20mins to perform and is a great non surgical option.  Discomfort is typically minimal and brief, and although the injection may sting for a few seconds, normal activities can be resumed soon after.
