Gastric by-pass surgery is a method that not only limits the intake of food but also reduces the absorption of food. It is still the most common type of combined surgeries. In this operation, the upper part of the stomach is reduced to about 30-50 cc. In the second stage, a portion of the small intestine is brought into this small gastric pouch and then joined together. With this method, almost 80% of the stomach is disabled, and patients get a feeling of satiety quickly with much smaller portions. The operation lasts for about two hours and the patient can stand up at the 4th hour after the surgery to meet his own needs. After this operation, the patient is kept under observation in the hospital for about 3 days and drug treatment is organized on the 3rd day and the patient leaves hospital to continue his daily life with the support of a dietician.
